Their idea of 'ending this' is killing and/or expelling all Palestinians from their lands. When you employ scorched earth tactics and exclusively target all civilian infrastructure (hospitals, bakeries, schools, universities, ambulances, shelters, UN facilities, pharmacies, entire residential blocks), then that's not a military operation and rather a ethnic cleansing operation. So no point to evaluate it as a military clash when it's not. You have to fight within laws of rule. Looking at the history of successive terrorist Zionist governments, it is crystal clear that they never wanted the two-states solution to materialize at any cost. They were cunningly buying more and more time while turning the noose against Palestinians tighter and tighter, and coercing them into fleeing or abandoning their homeland. Now that Palestinians have shown their will and determination to not abandon their dream of a free Palestinian state and succeeded in bringing their plight at the forefront, Zionist war-criminals, with the help from their western and American slaves, want to reverse all that. It's true the Palestinians have suffered very heavily. They have lost everything but hope. Their determination is what makes the Zionist war criminals and their slaves worried. It is indeed not possible for the Zionist to completely wipe out the whole Palestinian population.

In the face of increasing internation pressure, Zionists war criminals now openly claim that asking for any protection for Palestinian people amount to the existential threat to the Zionist state. This Zionist claim is mischievous, misleading, and deceptive aimed at the western and American public. A perceived existential thread cannot be allowed to be used as justification of a genocide against the whole Palestinian population. At present, Hamas is not a existential threat for the Zionist state. Rather it's quite the opposite. The world community needs to step in and find a permanent solution to this ostensibly complex problem.

It is possible to address the real (Palestinians) and perceived (Zionists) threats at the same time. A UN peace force deployed between the Palestine and Israel would mitigate all these perceived and real existential threats. The world community must have a will and determination to provide (rather impose) justice in that part of world. Security guarantees must be provided to both the state of Israel (within pre-1967 borders) and a free Palestinian state having its capital in Jerusalem. That's the only way lasting peace can prevail in Middle-East. But the pre-requite for that is for the Zionists to publicly abandon their expansionist state policy. Let's see if the world community can achieve that goal.

Everyone knows you cannot defeat a group like Hamas militarily since they are part of the Palestinian social fabric and the root cause is the occupation and desire for sovereignty and recognition of their right to self determination. Until those are met, Palestinian Resistance will exist and grow and there is NO military solution to this.

US generals once said: when we went to Afghanistan we thought there was 20,000 Taliban fighters, we killed 40,000 and suddenly there were 50,000 Taliban fighters left.

You know that Israel won't fulfill that, why?

Because Hamas/Palestine demand is not simply about sovereignty and right to self determination as you said, but extermination of Israel and ruling over territory from river to the sea; as they admit they can't live together side by side with Israel.

Once Israel give up all West Bank to Palestine, they will push to another demand and will use the WB as their basis for resistance.

That's why Israel thinks this war on Gaza will be a good solution to give deterrent effect so that Hamas won't repeat the same mistake again by attacking Israel like 7th Oct 2023.
