Make me think modern battle tanks are really just lame ducks against a well organized and well armed force.

I think millitary equipment are slowly moving away from large sturdy machinery, towards smaller, concealed and mobile ones.

Even mighty aircraft carriers arent really safe against asymmetric missile attacks. Even with air defence support its easy to overwhelm it.

99 percent of videos I have seen are of dead civilians. I’ve seen plenty of footage of Hamas destroying your tanks and targeting your soldiers. I have seen very few videos of Israeli soldiers killing Hamas fighters or even fighting them.

I have seen plenty of videos of Israeli soldiers shooting at desks and empty rooms.
Who are you fighting?

This seems like the pattern in modern warfare and I think the Azerbaijan-Armenia conflicts in last just a few years brought to attention the nature of the warfare you are talking about.
Indeed, the aircraft carriers seem 'Oh so 20th century' now as do the F-16s and much else in the arsenals of conventional militaries. Like a very poor North Korea can faceoff a Superpower like America is because everyone knows that the NK artillery and missiles can destroy Seoul--similarly, Iran, through Hezbollah, has the potential to destroy Israel.
But then boys will be boys--buying expensive toys and strut around in Defense Shows and annual military parades of victories and appear 'Oh so powerful' in Jane's ranking. And I mean boys in all militaries. Pathetic wastage of resources!!

Because there is a large economic factor that runs on those industries - not just military mind pushing that. Senators and congressmen on lobbyist payrolls - higher tanks instructed to use bombs when infantry could easily take care of issues with less collateral damage.

Who do you think is profiting from the Gaza war? JDAMs dont get manufactured for free..

Jewish residents were locals too and they were 33% of the population at that time.

The referendum couldn't be conducted because they didn't agree on it. Referendum require all people agree to run the referendum, it require consent of the whole sides to have referendum. There was no consent between arab side and jewish side to run referendum. Thats why UN resolution came.
