USA policy in the region is falling apart, right infront of our eyes ... abraham accords are dead. dead. Iran-Saudi are moving to resolve their differences.. saudi have started the process of de-dollarisation. petrodollar is over. i can go on and on about how the USA and Israel are losing.
The Pentagon and the CIA are very much against a regional war. They know the outcome not only for the region, including Israel/Iran, but also for the thousands of American troops in Syria and Iraq. Recently, when Sec. Blinken had accepted Zelensky's wish to get long range missiles, the Pentagon, via Sec. Austin, pushed back hard and Zelensky didn't get his wish.
In the current administration, Sec. Austin is one of the few cabinet member who is not Jewish/Zionist and he is a person of color--and that combination does shape one's thought process.
The hope in the pro Palestinian American analysts is that the Pentagon will prevail between now and the elections. Until the American elections, not much can be done because the AIPAC money and media is needed by both parties. Netanyahu is aware of that and is using the current 'unique opportunity' to start a regional war but, as of now, he is not getting his wish. He may go without America to drag the Americans in--but that can become a very costly gamble if the Americans don't jump in.
So, in short, you are right: There is no victory for Israel and America. Even if Gaza is totally subjugated today, the northern front will stay active for as long as there is supplies and support from Iran.
