I think for many countries the appeal of the JF17 is relatively low risk affordable access to the PL15 if they can't get access to other sub 200km BVR missiles, especially in the context of the middle east. For example, for the Saudis, rather than going for the J10CE and incurring the wrath of the Yanks, procuring a "Pakistani" aircraft instead may be seen as more palatable for the US, but it still gives access to an AESA/PL15 equipped fighter with decent ECM and networking capabilities at relatively low cost.

Exactly this. US is only basically offering the muslim world the "V". (Saudi and Turks F-35 chances still slim).

The V gives them the APG-83 and the AMRAAM C8 combo as well as some incremental data fusion and EW improvements. Also with all the usual US political strings and a price tag of around $120-$150 million.

The JF-17C gives them the KLJ-7V2 and PL-15E combo. Remember the PL-15s we used to make Rafale into expensive cooking utensils were 10 years old, so we can assume major improvements by China since then, even for export models. Price tag comes in at $30-$40 million plus no strings.

Now no matter what the difference is in thrust to weight, EW, data links to other equipment etc etc. That is a very very strong sales proposition. What, 80% of a V capability for say 35% of the price of a V?

Actually deal with Sudan does not involve JF-17 sakes but K-8, Drones etc
Question, Aren't K-8's Chinese IP? How are we gonna export those? Moreover, isn't the original K-8 out of production and replaced with the K-8 NG?

Say what you want about Sidhu, but basically the guys seems to be acting like some travelling sales rep for PAC. Love it.

Big if on many of these deals, and they may not come off, but if they do looks like JF-17 may out do SU-30 and Rafale in terms of number of clients, and even possibly planes exported.....
Please don't forget the IAF chief's recommendable efforts to keep the PAF always great.....

Be it '65, '19 or '25, the Sikh IAF Chiefs make the PAF proud....

The best bit however, is the salty salty salty tears of the Indians😂😂😂😅😂😅

Not only is the Tejas a dud, but their narrative of May 2025 comes under pressure with Indians in full scale DENIAL of what happened 😅
No wonder, they now want to take revenge from their history! These scums don't understand History isn't without it's ONE and ONLY ONE MASTER, WHO doesn't share HIS AUTHORITY with anyone....

Joint production I think 15% or 20% partnership of China & Pakistan
From what I remember from the old PDF, PAC can produce 33% of the K-8 but you probably know better and that's not issue here. China has shown the next gen of K-8 in the past, wouldn't it be better to get those vs the older variant we have? Also, I know that this is off topic and I apologize for that but it just deosn't make sense to go for an old plane.

The K-8 project is a China-Pakistani cooperation project. It is similar to the JF-17 project, but predates it.

In 2024, the last batch of K-8 (known as JL-8 in the Chinese domestic version) trainer aircraft were retired from the PLAAF Flight Academy.
Currently, PLA flight cadets mainly use JL-9 and JL-10 trainer aircraft. There are virtually no JL-8 trainer aircraft in service.

I suspect that this project may have been entirely handed over to Pakistan. The Chinese team is likely only responsible for providing technical support and supplying some components.
