Yes. It could well be Iraq as the next buyer.
Pakistan is on a roll here. Something the Indians can only helplessly watch progress while their Tejas and Su-30MKI both look like miserable failures on the export market.

Say what you want about Sidhu, but basically the guys seems to be acting like some travelling sales rep for PAC. Love it.

Big if on many of these deals, and they may not come off, but if they do looks like JF-17 may out do SU-30 and Rafale in terms of number of clients, and even possibly planes exported.....

Air chief likes printing headlines even if they go nowhere

In meeting with ACM Sidhu, Iraqi air chief expresses 'keen interest in JF-17 fighter jets'

And, they can pay for those JF17s with F16s that they are struggling to operate :) (yes, would require USA approval etc). Might be time for the FM to "test" the relationship with the USA for this now, see if there is something real there or not.

I still can’t believe that so many customers are buying the JF-17 !

This is a bit emotional for us because for a long time no one believed in the JF-17. It was mocked, junk, lousy, and limited ...... until May 7, 2025.

Keep faith, dudes

Basically it's a PRODUCT

If a buyer thinks they have plenty of time and options, they will dawdle and drag their feet

If they suddenly see a whole bunch of buyers, jumping on the product, FOMO (Fear of missing out)
Comes into play and suddenly everyone comes out of the woodwork to place orders before they fail to get the product

So countries who were 'maybes' will be worried if they wait they could be YEARS in the waiting and their aren't great options at this price tag that can offer so much value and weapons options and flexibility

It's great

Its sales 101

The best bit however, is the salty salty salty tears of the Indians😂😂😂😅😂😅

Not only is the Tejas a dud, but their narrative of May 2025 comes under pressure with Indians in full scale DENIAL of what happened 😅

What is the maximum production capacity for the JF 17. One wonders if all these militaries showing interesting in it have access to information in context of the Pak India conflict that isnt openly available.

I was reading this is not as straight forward as it may seem. it is not just issue that they got no AMRAAMs with their Vipers. Apparently the radar and EW fit has been down graded compared to other export Vipers

They will need an upgrade for sure, but the airframes are young so it makes an upgrade(even to V standard) more viable logically.

I think for many countries the appeal of the JF17 is relatively low risk affordable access to the PL15 if they can't get access to other sub 200km BVR missiles, especially in the context of the middle east. For example, for the Saudis, rather than going for the J10CE and incurring the wrath of the Yanks, procuring a "Pakistani" aircraft instead may be seen as more palatable for the US, but it still gives access to an AESA/PL15 equipped fighter with decent ECM and networking capabilities at relatively low cost.
