They should have done it years ago,

3 never made sense, I reckon they thought they just don't have the enemies for the need for a large airforce

Slowly over time, they have assessed their threats and a order for more JF17s or another jet should come

Combat tested in Africa now and very effective results it seems to stop coup in Benin ( on top of combat operations in Nigeria in anti-terrorism and anti-insurgency operations ).

Hopefully the performance is good enough for Nigeria to consider purchasing the 35-40 more jets they are looking for. They have not to date specified if it will be a new type, or more JF17s for the 35-40 new jets.
