JF-17 - Updates, News & Discussion

That is a false assumption.
1. KSA may not ever be in conflict with Israel other than a far shot situation where Israel uses KSA airspace for a strike(as a show of force for regional messaging).

2. F-15s being used against Israel might have certain compromising situation but that doesnt mean they will be sitting ducks either. They also have Typhoons which you are discounting just because I think you want to hate on US equipment.
I am discounting euro fighters as they are not going to be easily replaceable with condition of its creators like UK assembly almost halted due to last order in 2009. and KSA in 2007 last received in 2017. Production line is active but has not been continuously active. with max 14 aircraft per year currently its not going to be easy to replace.

About 2 points you made
1. That is all assumption. Anything is possible, Israel going against KSA in future is possible. Just because current KSA has happy relation with Israel. US veto is possible.

2. US has the best equipment in airforce period. I dont hate US equipment. My hate is for US geopolitics.

I want to add
3. JF17 is best option in terms of sanction free and very vast roles. F15 will take year or more to replace the lose as compared to jf17. Even if we discard political constraints and no bottlenecks in production. jf17 assembly line already is more than ef2000 and if good orders come PAC already is working on increasing assembly lines

I think this discussion is repeating again and again. I am convinced in my assumption and your point is considered by me genuinely.

I'd rather have pack of wolves than a single tiger.
In the end we all want Pakistan and its industry to prosper :pakistan::pakistan::pakistan::pakistan::pakistan:.

Hello sir read my posts.
F15 best kill against sam is klub system and best kill against fighter mig 29 with one of worst variants in iraq.
Jf17 sam kill against s400.

If By kill chain jf17 with awacs support can do that than its great fighter.

Biggest mistake was showing jf17 as low cost fighter. It has created image as cheap fighter. With block 2 and 3 its light fighter with cost so cheap only because its not boeing or dassault or lockheed martin product. Make 50 mill plane then sell for 150 mill. Jf17 has no over exaggerated profit margin.

In aa scenario block 3 has multiple options to engage f15sa. Jf17 will be not some sitting duck it has cards. The difference is f15 has more missiles and jf17 is less.

Avionics play great role in survivability.

With 50 to 80km nez of pl15 and radars lpi capbility it can reach in that nez zone of pl15 even against fighters like f15. Awacs assist is separate plus point if fielded.

Ew suite of jf17 will be challenge.

Plus low rcs of jf17 against high rcs of f15 fighter makes that possible as well.

If range becomes closer within klj 7a its possible.

When I know usa is dash enuf to stop supply and maintenance i would go for jf17. If us was not that dash enuf. Id go for f15 only because record of safety and kills is superior in terms of quantity but we forget f15 never faced real challenge.
Bro I know we all love our JF-17, but lets not get blinded by that love. We can't compare a lightweight multirole fighter with a heavy weight air superiority fighter. They are leagues apart and the odds are really high against JF-17 looking at the quality of stuff F-15 is packing from avionics to radar to missiles. If you put both on even grounds, chances are high that F-15 can knock out the JF-17. The only chance JF-17 can win might be if the F-15 is an older variant and have its limits to engagement.

Hello sir.
Understood completely. @Oscar Explained well and @Metal 0-1 as well. But I guess I am trying to explain a situation that is not applicable in present but for future. So ending the argument I made.

Well - perhaps people really need to stop questioning the credibility of Reuters after all. Here are snapshots from official press video by DGPR (AF).

This meeting was a follow up to Indonesian president's recent visit where he visited JF-17 PMO and was briefed on JF-17 by AM Zaeem Afzal.

The guy went back and sent his Defence Minister to Pakistan to further the talks. So rest assured, it wasn't all "BS" as widely believed by many. Yes, it may just be an initial step towards a potential deal but there is definitely some substance to it.

There's a famous rule in the Chinese business world:

"钱到账才是真,其它都是浮云."

I will only take this seriously once the contract payment has been deposited into my account. Otherwise, it's all meaningless. Any letters of intent, MOUs, or even formal agreements are irrelevant until the contract payment is in my account.

Takes time my friend. Things don't happen overnight. And it wasn’t like, Reuters broke the news of a "finalized and done" deal.

X number of people evaluate your product. Y number of people actually end up buying it. X and Y are never going to be same. However, higher the X, the probability for Y being high also increases.

The Chinese never underestimate the importance of marketing. We actively invest in promotional work and engage in in-depth communication with potential clients. However, the Chinese typically only celebrate a deal after receiving the first payment. Before that, there is no celebration, nor any overly enthusiastic discussion.

Our Pakistani friends can certainly be happy about the current situation of the JF-17 and celebrate moderately. However, it's not advisable to have excessively high expectations based on this information.

Excessive expectations, if unmet, can easily lead to profound disappointment. And profound disappointment can easily lead to resentment.

Maintain a calm and balanced perspective on the ever-changing world.

Yes, bro.
"Balanced perspective". That's exactly what i have been trying to convey here.

Neither excessive expectations nor overly pessimist remarks like "dude, all this is just BS, Reuters have turned into a trash media outlet".

Keep calm and enjoy the gameplay 😎

Yes, agreed, no one is saying the deal is 100%, but it is very clear there has been an UNPRECEDENTED level of interest in JF-17. The most there has ever been about Chinese fighters, and all of this happened after 7th May. I think many countries woke up to the fact that much of the opinions on Chinese weapons in the West were pure propoganda

Literally no one in Pakistan is celebrating, news of interest in JF-17 is being communicated. Fanboys do not represent PAC or PAF.

For heaven's sake, you don't have to put your nose in everything. Members are entitled to their opinions and enthusiasms. Not every thread requires a lecture on Chinese culture.

@side-winder Can someone from the mod team ask him to ease up on the truisms, platitudes and boasts? He's really ruining the forum experience.
