JF-17 - Updates, News & Discussion

Every single doctrine that does not favour air power has proven to fail over the many decades of war that we have seen.
Well when you have finite resources and have to pick one over the other, it's better to invest in missiles over an airforce that will be shot out of sky by enemy airforce and AD in a turkey shoot like it happened over Beka Valley circa '82.

China does not produce half of the aircraft and has no final assembly line for it. JF-17s of Myanmar, designated 'Ruby', under construction at Kamra:

Thanks bro. I stand corrected. Still, these were not handed over directly to Myanmaar from PAC. Final testing was done by Chinese. Pakistan assembled airframes AFAIK.

True. They have better options on the table.

not really

Su-30 will take any thing from 12 to 16 months for Irani pilots to be operationally effective... and then more time to train into their airforces doctrine...this is a complex aircraft.. the Indians with over 20 years experince with the su-30 couldn't impress the PAF

JF-17s can be produced quicker easier to operate and train on... it will fulfill IIRAF numerical needs.. of course they will also have to buy Su-35 as their "cutting edge" fighter

We know that RUBY (JF-17 of Myanmar Air force) use a different Radar than KLJ-7 Pulse Doppler Radar.
How do we know this? And what other radar can the MAF JF-17 be having if not KLJ-7?

thanks - and this shows there are small differences between FC-1 and JF17 variants of the Thunder platform need to be aware of. If it is labelled as FC-1, then it is more of a pure chinese variant, if it is JF17 then the baseline is the Pakistani variant with its western components.
Which Western components other than the ejection seat?

JF17C avionics and EW are far more cutting edge than anything Russia can produce with its electronics industry. Su35 advantage is range, payload and better kinetics, ie a different mission profile, that is it !!!

Testing would also have been done the same way it is done for all the other JF-17s. You wouldn't change a production setup for a handful of aircraft, especially when it doesn't make any difference. Changing anything would have needlessly increased the cost and time. Unless there were subsystems in those examples that were alien or beyond the scope of PAC's apparatus.

People are asking too much from jf17 can it destroy ... asat it can do that blah blah. Jf17 has alot to catch up still. Keep improving it with given resources and hope for the best 🤞. Do comparison with no one end of the day it is useless and can be sign of arrogance also let it do performance in real battle arena because actions are louder than words.
