JF-17 - Updates, News & Discussion

I've always called the JF-17 the "bare minimum" of modern air supremacy. It is given everything necessary for a modern multirole fighter, nothing less but nothing more.

The recent events have proved that the PAF have pushed the platform to its limits and maybe beyond. Such competency, professionalism, resillience, and aspiration is seldom seen elsewhere in the third world.

That's why the word on Pakistani streets has been for some 2 decades to crash out of the IMF. We know we have the potential and will perform when there is no other choice. PAF and nuclear program are two examples. We had a bit of an economic launch some 50 years ago, but if there is one thing uncle Sam hates more than a strong Pakistan military is a strong Pakistan economy.

There are no more block 1s

All block 1s were turned into block 2 standard

Some of these planes have now been flying for close to 20 years so it's debatable, whether you want to spend the money upgrading them rather then just build new Block 3s

Especially since the JF17 block 2s can be used to carry out the day to day load

Name one first world country where this resilience is seen---none---.

Datalink---bvr---superior EW and weapons package makes no difference between a lightweight or a heavy fighter---.

JF17 BLK3 is a HOT SHOT long range sniper---. It is a battle proven aircraft now with X # of kills to its name against a far superior enemy in equipment and numbers---.

No other smaller air force in the world would be able to make this claim for a long long time or maybe never ever---.

fairly new block 2 should be upgraded to be able to fire PL15E having aesa radar. This conflict showed no point having 100 million dollar aircraft if you got no long stick missile. that makes block 3 more dangerous thats why i want all block 3.

Sir jee the key word in ur above post is "sniper weapons".
Pl 15, Pl 17, Pl 21 are all sniper bullets fired by our Sniper weapons JF 17 and J10C

I fully accept that the JF-17B3 should be given some appropriate praise at the right time. It is indeed the best light fighter in the world at present.

But if the praise exceeds a certain limit, it will turn into exaggeration. This will gradually make people lose interest in it.

Objectively speaking. Modern BVR air-to-air missiles with two-way data links can be carried by any air combat carrier. For example, older fighters, civilian airliners, UAVs, and even large hot air balloons. Of course, the actual use effect will be slightly different.

China has many types of UAVs that can carry PL-15, but we will not give these UAVs the title of "long-range sniper". China's latest exposure of the Jiutian UAV is a flexible and multi-purpose long-range UAV. Many of its data exceed the JF-17B3 (except for flight speed). But we will not use the JF-17B3 to compare it.
