Jinnah Class Frigate | Updates & Discussion

Could JCF use CAMM-MR instead? Ik its a bigger missile but if unable to be quadpacked we should atleast look at increasing effectiveness of individual missile

That's the cost of everything other than the missiles themselves, so the VLS tubes, launching mechanism and possibly integration as well.

Since 32-16 = 16, I only calculated the cost of 16 missiles + VLS + spares
How about the cost of change to bring back the craft to 30 knots+ once the heavier config will slow it down?

Honestly if they are going 16 cells, then we need quad packed config for MILDAS and CAMM-ER. Remember, just because you can quad pack doesnt mean you have to. And CAMM-ER comes in canister so integration is only a technical question (ie getting the engineers to marry the system and test it). If not Gokdeniz will definitely need to be replaced with Goksur or the survivability of this ship in a pitched conflict against IN and brahmos will be very limited. 2-3 missiles per brahmos will likely be need for intercept. It will likely face 4 missiles minimum so will run out of missiles very quickly. And it would likely take only 1 brahmos to sink this size of ship

Recently I read that Indonesia is acquiring 64 missile Ships with Turkish cooperation, I think their Ships is designed by their own local effort

Our Jinnah Class Ships will only have 16 Missiles , seems a bit under armed for modern conflict , while it is an improvement but seems a bit low

If you are getting a ship with 3-4 year wait time might as well have at least 32 VLS launchers in it, why construct it with 12-16 configuration and then again do another adjustment which take 10 years. Might as well get 32 VLS from start during initial development

I think Jinnah class is only slighter heavier than Babur class so it's not fully a Type 054A/P but smaller hence not the 32 VLS but 16 VLS

basically a Babur with VLS

Jinnah sits between the Babur and Type 054AP

Babur is built for speed and Jinnah will be the backbone with a lot of flexibility and different roles and Type 054AP is the actually air defence FFG

Jinnah role won't be air defence this will be a multi role FFG which offers flexibility

I would suggested Jinnah class batch 1 x 4 units

then build a enlarged version 4 x batch 2 with 32 x VLS and dual helicopters for better ASW

this way we have

4 x Azmat Class FAC
4 x F22P FFG
4 x Yarmoor class OPV
4 x Babur Class Corvette
4 x Type 054AP FFG
4 x Jinnah Class Batch 1 FFG
4 x Jinnah Class batch 2 FFG

thats 28 x warships add to that

8 x Hangor class
3 x Agosta 90B
2 x Agosta 70
3 x COSMOS

16 x submarines

plus 15-20 x auxiliary ships Pakistan will have over 60+ warships

this give us plenty of "critical mass" and a very advanced navy

lolz , Remove the OPVs , FAC batch 2 of Jinnahs , agosta 70s and we dont have that many auxiliary or even support ships..and still all of that is placed in karachi and not even docked seperately..

Gwadar
Pasni
Jiwani
Ormara

There should be naval bases on these locations. I think ormara already have naval base for submarines.

Gwadar is already used as a naval base and it should be further expanded. Ormara is already a base, Pasni and Jiwani don't make sense.
