K-P forms first-ever Sniper Squad for precision operations in high risk areas

you know these cost more than just buying ucavs right?

these are like 10-15m a pop.
Cheaper in the long term plus constant day and night surveillance unlike UCAVs that are rarely used considering how hot the war is. And if flown 24/7/365 over an area, will definitely crash in couple of months.

Initially 5-10 in extremely hot zones like shawal, Tirah, Bajaur, can greatly damage the enemy's movements and in time act as an area denial system if paired efficiently with the offensive units, ground our air.

Pakistani police snipers use one of the following depending on which provincial service they are with:

Elite/ATS dedicated sniper team:
AR10

****

Sindh Police SSU have .50 BMGs but SSU is a mainly used for VVIP security - so I have not included them in this list as they have hardly ever completed any policing/CT ops.
Someone should let your guys know that keymod handguards lost. :)

Admittedly, I have one but don't like it. It will be swapped soon.

AR10-style rifles. ALWAYS a good choice.

The key is ISR. Everything else flows from there. Sniper teams, Drones, IBOs, and so on. You can only hit what you can see. And There is clearly a massive breach in ISR, both at the border and in depth.

So since babus are too greedy to use UCAVs for constant surveillance, the only real "game changer" Pakistan can invest today is in few hundreds of these tethered aerostats in troubled areas

That's too expansive
This is not true.

When a tashkeel or a large enough group is killed, and LEAs display their corpses and weapons, around 80-90% of the Weapons are AKs, PKMs, and RPGs. M4s are uncommon and thermals a rarity.

Sure, the ratio changes for those specialist suicide units that have to attack and infiltrate specific hard targets like Bannu FC line etc.View attachment 155499View attachment 155500
TTP only give commander status to those who have M4 with thermal scope.

Seen in clashes repeatedly in Baluchistan recently.
I think BLA have much higher percentage of advance riffles compared to TTP. They even have night vision goggles and helmets ( they often posts it on their posters). And No army in the world can move into an area infested with terrorists unless they have an eye in the air such as VTOLS and QCs.

TTP operates in Baluchistan too, not just BLA, as Afghanistan borders with KPK and Baluchistan.

Muslim Bagh - Zhob - Wana (see this axis on the map, its north west of Quetta).

Army is not deployed on the borders. FC is on western border, Rangers are on eastern border, GB scouts along with NLI and Mujahid battalions (NG) are on LOC. Then secondary role of FC, Rangers and GB scots are internal security which are supplemented by Police, reserve police, constabulary and some other LEAs. There is another NG force called Janbaz force which is deployed for Air Defence and security role inside Pakistan cities in case fo war or like the May 2025 conflict.

Army comes for offensive missions against India or for specialized Ops, or as reinforcement for FC/Rangers etc if border is over run.

Who these paramilitaries come under? Specially in this day and age where Pakistan is literally hijacked by the GHQ lot. If first line of defence, the border, is breached on regular basis where terrorists are just streaming in to Pakistan, buck stops at GHQ door. And this goes back all the way to post 9/11.

How hard can it be for us to make a blimp and a tether, and attach some thermals? If a camera can see from a moving drone from 15,000 ft, a static base is trivial.

The Pak Pashtuns have a duty to "civilize" the genes in the DNA of the Afgan Pashtuns....
