Pakistan Security forces conducted a succesful operation in Lakki Marwat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, eliminating eight militants and injuring six on October 24, said Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The operation is part of ongoing efforts to eradicate terrorism and restore peace in the province, carried out following precise intelligence reports, according to the ISPR statement.

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has faced a sustained wave of terrorist attacks, prompting ongoing security operations against elements described by the state as Fitna al-Khawarij, which is the term used for terrorists affiliated with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

An intelligence-based operation (IBO) was conducted in the area of Spinwam, North Waziristan on October 13 and 14, which led to the death of 18 terrorists after an intense exchange of fire.

JUI-F leader survives IED blast in South Waziristan

SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: A local leader of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl and administrator of a seminary narrowly escaped a blast inside a mosque in Azam Warsak Bazaar of Birmal tehsil in Lower South Waziristan on Friday.

Police sources said the explosion took place at around 10am when Maulana Sakhi Wazir arrived at his room in the mosque from home. The blast partially damaged the walls of the room. The JUI-F leader sustained minor injuries.

Lower South Waziristan district police officer Mohammad Tahir Shah confirmed the incident, saying that unidentified assailants had planted an explosive device near the mosque at night. “The IED went off with a bang as Maulana Wazir entered the room.”

The police collected evidence from the blast site and launched an investigation.

Initial findings suggested that a remote-controlled improvised explosive device was used in the attack. The explosion triggered panic among local residents, who expressed concern over the deteriorating security situation in the region.

According to police officials, this was not the first attack targeting JUI-F leaders in the district. Earlier, JUI-F district chief Maulana Abdullah and another leader, Maulana Shehzada were also targeted in separate bomb attacks. Both sustained serious injuries and Maulana Abdullah is still under treatment at a government hospital in Multan.

In a statement issued after the incident, JUI-F strongly condemned the attack on Maulana Wazir, calling it a cowardly act of terrorism.

The party spokesperson said the increasing attacks on religious scholars were alarming, and the silence of state institutions was deeply regrettable.

The party urged the government, district administration and police to take effective measures to ensure the protection of religious scholars, seminaries, and clerics.

Local residents voiced serious concern over the incident, saying that during the past year, Birmal tehsil and adjoining areas had witnessed a sharp rise in terrorist activities, including targeted killing, kidnapping for ransom, and attacks on security forces.

Car bomb, three terrorists neutralised in KP’s North Waziristan: ISPR

Security forces killed three terrorists while foiling an attempted suicide attack in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s North Waziristan district, the military’s media wing said on Saturday.

A statement issued today from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that security forces foiled a “major terrorist incident and averted a potential catastrophic attack” a day ago after conducting an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the district’s general area of Jhallar based on credible intelligence about reported terrorist presence belonging to “Indian proxy Fitna al-Khawarij preparing a vehicle-borne suicide bomber for a major terrorist activity”.

Fitna al-Khawarij is a term the state uses for terrorists belonging to the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

It added that troops effectively engaged them at their location and destroyed the vehicle being prepared for the suicide attack while eliminating three “Indian-sponsored” terrorists through “precise and skillful engagement”.

The ISPR said that a sanitisation operation was being conducted to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area.

“Relentless counterterrorism campaign under vision ‘Azm-i-Istehkam’ (as approved by Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by security forces and law enforcement agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve,” the ISPR concluded.

Pakistan has witnessed a surge in terrorist attacks, especially in KP and Balochistan, predominantly targeting the police, law enforcement agencies’ personnel, and security forces. Attacks increased after the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) broke a ceasefire agreement with the government in 2022.

Earlier this week, KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi claimed that the resurgence of terrorism being witnessed in the province was due to the “flawed policy” of the federal government. The PTI, which has been in power in KP since 2013, opposes military operations, which are also resisted by tribal people as they often lead to displacements.

Although the federal government in August ruled out a new offensive, it continues counter-terrorism operations under the National Action Plan. A military operation looms over the Kurram district, where people have started leaving their homes, while a targeted action is planned in Bajaur’s War Mamund tehsil.

Panic spread among residents of Bara’s Akakhel area in Khyber tribal district after a group of terrorists, 'belonging to Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan', unexpectedly appeared at a local cricket match.

According to local sources, the TTP vehicle was seen passing near the village ground where dozens of spectators were watching a cricket match. On spotting the vehicle, many villagers fled the scene, fearing reprisals from the them, who once controlled large parts of the region.

However, to their surprise, the armed men stopped and addressed the crowd, asking them not to be afraid. “You can play whatever game you want or engage in your political activities openly without any fear,” their leader reportedly told the residents who had gathered at the site. “We do not interfere with the locals or their activities. We do not rob people or extort money.”

The leader went on to claim that the TTP’s image as a violent group was a 'propaganda', asserting that they only asked locals to provide food when needed. “We do not kill or harm anyone unnecessarily,” he said.

Witnesses said a local cleric, who was invited as the chief guest at the match, fled upon seeing the armed band. He later told reporters that the incident had occurred before his arrival.

Despite the group's assurances, residents remained deeply unsettled, recalling the grim memories of TTP dominance in Khyber district.

Security forces kill 25 terrorists in two separate KP operations: ISPR

Security forces foiled two major terrorist infiltration attempts from Afghanistan on 24-25 October 2025, killing 25 militants, including four suicide bombers, and seizing a large cache of weapons and explosives in separate operations in North Waziristan and Kurram districts, the military’s media wing said on Sunday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), on 24-25 October 2025, security forces detected movements of two large groups of khwarij attempting to infiltrate Pakistan from Afghanistan near Ghaki in Kurram District and Spinwam in North Waziristan District.

“Own troops effectively engaged these groups of khwarij [and] as a result of precise and skilful engagements, fifteen khwarij, including four suicide bombers belonging to [the] Indian proxy, Fitna al Khwarij were sent to hell in Spinwam, North Waziristan District,” the statement said.

It added that another ten infiltrating khwarij were killed in Ghaki, Kurram District, and a large cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered from the slain militants.

Fitna al Khawarij is the state-designated term for the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

The statement added that despite successfully thwarting the infiltration attempt, five soldiers sacrificed their lives during the intense firefights.

The fallen included Havildar Manzoor Hussain (35, District Ghizar), Sepoy Nauman Ilyas Kiyani (23, District Poonch), Sepoy Muhammad Adil (24, District Kasur), Sepoy Shah Jehan (25, District Vehari), and Sepoy Ali Asghar (25, District Pak Pattan), who embraced martyrdom while fighting gallantly.

“It is significant to point out that these infiltration attempts by Fitna al Khwarij are being carried out at a time when delegations of Pakistan and Afghanistan are engaged in talks in Türkiye; casting doubts on the intentions of the Interim Afghan Government with regards to addressing the issue of terrorism emanating from its soil,” the statement said.

It added that Pakistan had consistently been asking the Interim Afghan Government to ensure effective border management on their side of the border and is expected to fulfil its obligations of the Doha Agreement and deny the use of Afghan soil by Khwarij against Pakistan.

“The security forces of Pakistan remain resolute and unwavering in their commitment to defend the nation’s frontiers, and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve,” it said.

Sanitisation operation is being conducted to eliminate any other Indian sponsored kharji found in the area as relentless counter-terrorism campaign under vision “Azm e Istehkam” (as approved by Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by the security forces and law enforcement agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism from the country, it said.

Pakistan has seen a surge in terrorist attacks, particularly in KP and Balochistan, mostly targeting police, law enforcement personnel, and security forces. The spike followed the banned TTP’s breach of a ceasefire agreement with the government in 2022.

Last week, security forces neutralised 34 “India-backed” terrorists during multiple operations across KP.

we must up the ante for these tribal dogfukers in Kabul and Kandhar. Show them no mercy at all. Time to take em out and keep expelling those fake rats/rfugees and shut their transit trade. Seal the borders and stop giving them any visas
