Can talibans leave us alone please? They literally have a whole country to themselves. The world gifted a whole country to these crazies to do whatever backward stone age shi they want and yet they dont stop attacking others? Doha agreement was a total joke and so will any agreement with these dogs of hell. They know only one language and that is of voilence.
Pakistan army pushed for that agreement. I vividly remember ISPR talks between 2014-2021, the ISPRs used to say that eventually US will have to do dialog with Taliban and we can facilitate that. I posted a link in another thread of ISPR press conference in 2018 where ISPR general said that we want US to leave as a friend of region and that's why talks are so important. General says Taliban links and families are here in Pakistan, so we will do what we can to facilitate US-taliban interaction. In other words, they wanted Taliban to get back in power. As they believed that Taliban were their best bet to safeguard western border.
As far as your argument that can Taliban leave us alone please. Well, so Taliban only came in power in 2021. Who were bombing and destroying Kamra base, Mehran base, GHQ, School attacks, Capturing Swat valley, Marriot attacks, Srilankan team attack, etc, etc. If you look at all of these attacks closely you will instantly see direct benefit of india in all those attacks. In some attacks our force multipliers like AWACS, anti-sub aircrafts procured solely for india were targetted, at some cases cricket, business and tourism in Pakistan was targeted. Its common sense that India is main financer of terrorism in Pakistan regardless of who is in power in Kabul. For 20 years, ISPR told us that northern alliance / NDS / RAW nexus is powering TTP. How that all could just change over night? So main enemy is still india and they have deep links with TTP. We are perfectly trapped in a proxy war. So accusing Taliban isn't a solution. Taliban weren't in power for last 20 years still we lost 80K + to terror attacks. So even if taliban is removed from power, what's next? again same NDS/RAW nexus will go on with even more intensity.
So solution for this war was always creating an alliance with a dominant powerful group. Otherwise its nest of bees and constant problem at western front. India is waiting to restart its op.sindoor, we don't have enough budget to look all out at both borders. We have to make a smarter strategy. For years, I have been saying that we can win this war on terror only via a competent intelligence agency. De-politicize ISI and make it competent. Then it will create a network in Afghanistan, it will have its own people in power in their ranks, it will assasinate any pro RAW / pro indian people. It will find coordinates for top TTP commanders. It can implode the whole thing from inside. That's how you go against terror outfit. You can't ask airforce to go and randomly bomb other city and expect things to improve. Bottom-line is I see incompetence from intelligence / military regime that we are getting trapped in this mess by every day and situation only worsening.
The solution is the Lebanon mow the lawn model. You cannot contain a proxy group. You must repeatedly attack their bases and degrade their supply and manpower. There is no other way.
This is no solution. We don't have enough conventional payload to do that kind of mow the lawn. The population of tribals in our own country is in millions. The ex-FATA region is huge and then Afghanistan is super huge with massive population. The border is 2700 fking KM long. The border is challenging to guard, with rivers, mountains and caves and even villages spanning over the border. There are 30,000 villages in Afghanistan. Do we even have that many bombs?
Only solution is by making alliances, then supplementing it by a competent intelligence agency, that creates intelligence network in enemy territory. Its a proven model. We did that in 90s. That time Afghanistan was truly our strategic depth. We had no border security and zero terror attacks.
always had the dream of ac130s patrolling borders and vaporizing anyone that tries to enter .Can FM Asim Munir ask his best friend Trump to lend us a AC-130J for a couple of days, lol?
We don't need to carpet bomb Afghanistan , selective bombing will yield the desired results .This is no solution. We don't have enough conventional payload to do that kind of mow the lawn.
