22 terrorists killed in intelligence-based operation in KP’s Bannu: ISPR

News Desk
November 25, 2025

Twenty-two India-sponsored terrorists were killed in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bannu, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Tuesday.

A statement by the ISPR said that security forces conducted the IBO on Monday, based on the reported presence of khawarij belonging to Indian proxy Fitna al Khawarij.

Fitna al Khawarij is a term the state uses for terrorists belonging to the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

“During the conduct of the operation, own troops effectively engaged the khawarij location and after an intense fire exchange, 22 khawarij were sent to hell,” the statement said.

It added that a sanitisation operation was being conducted to eliminate any other terrorists in the area.

The ISPR also said that the counter-terrorism campaign by security forces and law enforcement agencies would continue with full pace to “wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country”.

EDITORIAL: As the year draws to a close, there is no let-up in acts of terrorism, particularly incidents in KP. A disaster was narrowly averted on Monday morning when the swift response of security forces prevented terrorists from staging a mass-casualty attack at Peshawar’s Federal Constabulary headquarters.

At least three security men were martyred in the episode, while several terrorists were gunned down after a suicide bomber blew himself up at the gates of the facility. Hundreds of troops were reportedly present inside the FC HQ at the time of the assault.

The attack resembled the raid targeting the Wana Cadet College earlier this month, in which the terrorists were also neutralised by security forces before they could cause major damage.

As for the perpetrators behind the Peshawar attack, state media are saying Afghan nationals were involved, while some observers have pointed to the involvement of the Jamaatul Ahrar, a terrorist outfit in the banned TTP’s fold.

PESHAWAR: Unidentified persons blew up a gas pipeline in Hameed Khan Machine area on the outskirts of the provincial capital on Wednesday night, residents and the police said.

Local residents said that an explosion had triggered fire from the pipeline.

SHO Mattani police station Wajid Khan confirmed the explosion and said that a team was on its way towards the area.

Another police official said that the pipeline was blown up for the second time. “The same pipeline was blown up two years ago by terrorists,” he added.

When contacted, SNGPL general manager Waqas Shinwari told Dawn that teams had been dispatched from Kohat and Nowshera to ascertain the loss and cause of the fire. He hoped that line was not fully blown up otherwise, the gas supply to the province would be massively disturbed.

He also said that the pipeline, emanating from district Karak, connected all the gas fields of the southern KP with the main transmission pipeline junction in Nowshera district.

If its 100% sure that any terror attack has happened because of Kabul's support then immediate response should be given. But no need to claim, giving them taste of their own medicine.

Also I keep wondering if Kabul govt (TTA regime) is responsible for ALL terror attacks in Pakistan then who were responsible for all the extreme terror attacks between 2002 to 2021.

According to ISPR TTP was funded / proxy of RAW & NDS from 2002 to 2021, But now they are proxy of TTA. Seems we are out of ideas. So even if we defeat TTA by full blown war, the return of afghan nationalists will do even more damage as they are always the original proxy of India. I don't see any end game / fool proof result oriented strategy at all. Our "geniuses" in GHQ seems to have no clue. One of the big reasons is they consider themselves as super genius. We need competent civilians to make decisions in intelligence / FP & diplomacy domains. CIA, RAW, Mosaad all such agencies are almost always headed by civilians.

Root cause of failures in ALL domains is that Pakistan lacks civilian supremacy. Any bit of civilians supremacy / audit, check & balances & accountability the country had was buried post 2021. We have to start from basics to fix the complex problems we are facing today. Self proclaimed Field marshals / dictators / Zia 2.0 won't and cannot solve these issues. They simply lack the competence to do so.

DI KHAN: Unidentified assailants targeted another government school in Tank district on Friday, blowing it up with an explosive device in the jurisdiction of Ghulam Imam Police Station. The Government High School in Akbari village was destroyed after unidentified terrorists planted explosives on the premises, causing significant structural damage.

This is the second such incident reported within hours. Earlier in the morning, a girls' primary school in Kari Umar Khan was also blown up using explosives, raising serious concerns about the security of education institutions in the region. No casualties were reported in either attack, as both buildings were unoccupied at the time.

Police teams reached both sites shortly after the blasts, cordoning off the areas and collecting forensic evidence. Officials said that investigations have been launched to identify and apprehend those involved in the coordinated acts of sabotage. Security around vulnerable schools in Tank and adjoining areas has been heightened in response to the back-to-back incidents.
