In Bajaur, the Kharijite insurgency had constructed secret tunnels inside homes, which were continuously used for storing weapons and as shelters.

These Kharijites continued to hide in these same homes and carry out organized actions against the state and the public.

During recent operations, these tunnels and large caches of weapons have been recovered and presented before the public as evidence.

Despite these solid pieces of evidence, certain malicious elements accuse the security forces of targeting the civilian population, which is either a result of ignorance of ground realities or deliberate overlooking.

Using civilians and their homes as human shields by the Kharijite insurgency is an extremely cowardly and reprehensible act.
