'Kicked him to the curb': How Elon Musk forced Vivek Ramaswamy out of DOGE

@r3alist

OK, There was a malpractise, Indians fraudulently grabbed a much larger chunk of the American job pie than they ought to have.

But what next? Would a ban/sharp cutback on immigration bring those IT jobs back to American born citizens? I suspect you will have no answer as usual.

I don't think they have the manpower to fill these roles which is why they are pouring money into AI farms. I reckon they will get there within 10 years.

The debate is not with me, you utterly distort the terms of the debate so it's never discussed, hence this is a never ending dialogue, the malpractice is only highlighted to draw your attention to the concerns and issues, which is near impossible to have discussed.

In reality it's between the American worker and citizen versus the aspiring the Indian citizen.... who has the proper and primary claim to the American tech dream? Define that how you want

Depending on who wins that will decide the solution.

If Elon wants to open the flood gates further but then we have automation and ai around the corner I can understand the concern from the American citizen

@r3alist

Why is it only between American IT workers and Indian IT workers- there are IT workers in 200 other countries, right?

The answer is simple: Whoever delivers the goods at the lowest possible cost to the (predominantly) American corporates who are offtakers of these services.

Which is your view, thats basically saying that's how globalism works and the Indian it worker is winning, so it's not their fault

No objection until now

The dissembling starts after ....when the American worker challenges this situation, we have Indians who just simply refuse to engage reasonably beyond this point

one example you said yourself is perhaps they, americans are not skilled enough....

Oh really? How can you know, they never seem to get the job opportunities, why not?

And are you telling me American cs graduates are not better than a random grad in India who has done a bit of coding?

This line of argument is leaning to Americans should forget thinking about working in the big tech industry, h1bs will handle it

I can see why an American will strongly push back, you simply refuse to say that plainly, so on and on we go 😇 I am even surprised at the uniform cohesiveness from the Indian side on this, not giving an inch

@r3alist

And are you telling me American cs graduates are not better than a random grad in India who has done a bit of coding?

I am the worst person to ask this question. My knowledge of IT doesn't extend beyond word and excel. You need to ask these questions to American corporates, all owned by white people, why they are recruiting Indian code coolies.

saying that's how globalism works and the Indian it worker is winning,

It is not just Indians. Please go through this article by Brofessor sb

Adjusted for population of the home country, there are more Vietnamese, Koreans, Taiwanese, Filipino and Mexican IT workers in USA.

Please go through this

There are a total of 34 million STEM workers in USA (of which around 2.5 million are non US born as per Brofessor sb's article or just over 7%.)

Sir, another cute response, let's adjust for population now

By your own concession you aren't very familiar on the subject....but here we are still quibbling away to infinity

apparently uncertain on whether a good American cs grad should struggle to find opportunities in silicon valley , this performative incredulity is something I need to learn how to do 😂

This is why I said, your team will win I think, the bottom line instinct has kicked in collectively and you have globalism on your side so what else do you need, those various disgruntled types don't have a chance

They saw manufacturing go abroad already, now they will see the middle class opportunities go to h1b right in front of them...but then be told it's because they are unskilled 😁 wow

@r3alist

the bottom-line instinct has kicked in collectively

So you agree that hiring Indian immigrants (or outsourcing to Indians) as opposed to American grads adds to the profitability of firms? If that is so, then there is no malpractice involved in hiring Indians, No?

Regards

Apparently, all of the maga movement want vivek ramaswamy out:

Why would all the maga movement want ramaswamy out? What is the reason for this?

Americans having their birthright taken away from them by these unscrupulous companies who should really be branded as traitors.

I am pretty anti-US(foreign policy) but this is just so sad seeing Americans not get the jobs their talents and hard work deserved.
The claim was "cost savings" by outsourcing. It took awhile before we realized any "savings". On top of that, the churn rate post outsourcing was on order of 150-200% on average. A couple of the roles was as high as 400%!.

Churn rate of the US employees who used to perform those jobs was less than 10%.

I didn't say opposed to American grads, just that downward pressure on labour is good for the corporation, not the citizen. An American grad is still cheep, you can't argue they out price themselves, you can't argue they have no skills or work ethic if they come from the better institutions they have clearly demonstrated that. They will have every reason to be ambitious given the investment already put in, stating the bleeding obvious

How many times can we pretend the citizen disgruntlement on this persistent or expanding detriment is not a valid discussion point*

* Infinity times is the answer

@r3alist

you can't argue they out price themselves, you can't argue they have no skills or work ethic

I am not arguing that. The predominantly white owned American corporations are.

Of course, it is a valid discussion point. We can offer our consolations to aggrieved graduates and move on.

Heh ok, please do, and move on and also ask them to move on 😁

In fact I should too for a while 😇
