Kylian Mbappe apologises after ‘dictator’ comment angers Chinese fans

They are free to give opinions like any other person.
Freedom of speech has its limits; it does not mean you can say whatever you want, whenever, wherever, and under any circumstances.

Let’s look at this from a different perspective.

If a Chinese person were doing business with a Spaniard and, during a dinner, mocked the King of Spain or other figures revered in Spanish history, what do you think the outcome would be?

If you have close business ties with Pakistanis, but you publicly mock Pakistan’s founding father, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, on social media, how do you think they would treat you?

Every nation, every ethnic group, and every religion has its own unique culture and history. When we interact with one another, we must learn to respect these cherished aspects of each other’s heritage.

Regardless of what kind of person Mao Zedong may have been, that is a matter for the Chinese people themselves. His exalted status in the hearts of the Chinese people is irreplaceable.

If you are simply an ordinary foreigner, we respect your pursuit of freedom of speech. If you choose to "amuse yourself" in your own private sphere, the worst that might happen is that we simply choose not to engage with you.

China is a vital market for La Liga and a strategic partner of the league. Real Madrid CF and Kylian Mbappé himself have massive commercial interests in China. To put it bluntly, China is their "sugar daddy". However, he publicly mocked the god of "sugar daddy"!

Now, the "sugar daddy" wants to sever this "umbilical cord"...
