Because the engines are so close together on the centerline you can't really even cut power to one to cause a sudden swing change in direction if you found yourself banking.

You are correct.Plenty of people scan air band radio and record aircraft and ATC communications. Its a hobby . You can buy scanning radios on ebay
What the hell kind of post is this? Show some human empathy, 9 people lost their lives.*******Edited the offensive bit******......................................
I dont know what happened, but the pilot was panicking too much
I concur I had the recording from LIVE ATC server refused to post it, All 9 onboard had loved ones. Imagine them hearing the last words of their loved one from some click farmer on social media? Why was this harrowing Audio made publicly available?
That Pilot audio is genuinely terrifying to hear
I believe this is a fundamental failure of technology. No matter what the conditions or pilot errors were, from 40 thousand feet there should be ample time and built in fail safe systems in place to prevent a vertical dive into the ground at full throttle. If icing can so easily render the plane unfunctional as we've seen with so many crashes due to icing of the control surfaces, than there should be triple/quadruple backup systems installed to prevent just this type of scenario.

This. The problem is the engines are above the flight surface center of gravity so when you throttle up the nose pitches down vs below center of gravity wing engines where if you throttle up the nose pitches up.
So if your ailerons are iced up you are in big trouble. You throttle up to get above the clouds but then the nose pitches down.
