I watched a Professor Jiang video before he became famous, I still remember the gaming scenario they kept running where all the big nations in the world were trying to become the richest, majority of the times the US would come out on top as it has so many resources, surprisingly Pakistan came second allot. He put it down to the nation being more resourceful with what little they had and creative, energetic to find solutions.

This is definitely a trait of Pakistanis I have seen first hand, they just need strong institutions and stable governance and they can take off.

"Most of the global world doesn't pay that?" Have you ever actually looked at the global world you are laughing at? Go look at the pump prices in Britain, Germany, France, or even next door in India. In the vast majority of the civilized, oil importing world, taxes make up forty to sixty percent of the final price. To think heavy fuel taxation is some unique malice invented solely by Islamabad to persecute you is not just wrong. It is staggeringly ignorant.

Pakistan produces practically nothing, exports nothing of real value, and buys oil using borrowed American dollars. The state treasury is empty. The begging bowl is permanently welded to the hands of whoever happens to be sitting in power. That Rs 184 levy is not a conspiracy of the elites. It is a strict revenue collection target mandated by the IMF just to keep this bankrupt Titanic afloat for another month.

What exactly do you think happens if the government magically wipes out that tax tomorrow to give you cheap petrol? The financial babus instantly miss their IMF revenue targets, the bailout is suspended, your foreign reserves evaporate overnight, and the Rupee becomes toilet paper. When the dollar shoots past 400 or 500, the base cost of your precious globally imported oil skyrockets anyway. You would end up paying significantly more at the pump simply because your currency collapsed into worthlessness. Sri Lanka tried this exact brand of populist idiocy a couple of years ago, and they ended up with no fuel, no electricity, and mobs burning down politicians' houses in the dark(Oh wait, that is what IK wants does he not?)

Fuel prices in Pakistan are absolutely tied to global markets, because Pakistan's ability to buy that fuel depends entirely on the Rupee surviving in the global financial system. You cannot separate local taxes from the reality of a bankrupt state trying to stave off a sovereign default. Pretending otherwise is just economic denial. Wake up and learn how the world actually works.

Dude your patwari PM just cut down petrol prices by Rs 80 from the same petrol affiliated taxes you were just lecturing above. Clueless like clueless PM.

Lol with Rs 458, you were paying the most in entire world perhaps after Ethopia. No other country in the world, I repeat no other country imposed this much of taxes on petroleum products than Pakistan until few hrs back when clueless patwari PM finally decided to cut down petrol prices by Rs 80 after getting trolled.

Taxes are normal.

Pakistanis are not a special breed of people who should be immune from paying taxes, expecting to live princely lives from other peoples money, loans and handouts.

If you don’t like the taxes you are paying and think they are unfair then elect better leaders!!

Its not about the taxes not being paid its the 'additional/excessive' taxes imposed on a item which was already adequately taxes.

As a native-born Chinese person, this is the first time I have ever heard of "Professor Jiang." I then followed the link you provided to watch his videos. At the same time, I searched for information about him, and what I found was that he is a highly controversial figure.

What we can be certain of is that he is not a "Professor". Whether in China or abroad, he has not received the title of "Professor" from any country or university.

In a situation like this—here in China—we can simply dismiss everything he stands for!
