The US Department of Defense announced that Sikorsky Aircraft Corp, a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin, has received a contract from the US Army worth $3.76 billion to manufacture Black Hawk helicopters intended for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The ministry added in a statement that the contract, which will last for several years, includes services attached to the deal, which include managing the software system, engineering, data, and technical publications. The scheduled completion date is June 30, 2022.

Lockheed Martin said in a statement that the contract, which extends over a period of five years, is for 257 H-60 Black Hawk helicopters, and its value is approximately $3.8 billion, and includes the option to purchase 103 additional aircraft, and the total value of the contract may reach $5.2 billion.

This comes as part of the defense deal worth $110 billion, which was signed by US President Donald Trump during his visit to Saudi Arabia.

The deal is with TOT..Starting from the body up to the engine..
 
Among the engines that are fully maintained and large parts manufactured in Saudi Arabia are jet engines for the F15 and other aircraft through the Middle East Aircraft Engines Company as well as Al Salam Aviation Manufacturing Company.
