Serb Advanced Industries Company (Serb) gets a "suicide drone" production contract for the Saudi army

Saudi Arabia's Serb Advanced Industries confirmed that it is mass-producing small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for the Saudi military

A company official told Janes that both the Jaser and larger Samil are in production, although he declined to name which branch of the Saudi military has ordered them



The Jasser plane with a range of up to 60 kilometers, has the ability to target the enemy's static and mobile targets, which reaches a speed of 90 km/h, thanks to that it is equipped with thermal and daytime cameras that can be directed manually or by computer to lock on the target automatically and also supports targeting by GPS and is launched by an air pressure platform and flying at a height of up to 4000 meters. The plane carries a variety of different types of munition, according to the task and with a 3 kg weight and it is operated by only two operators, as it is a total weight of 11 kg, and it is also resistant to communications breach between the direction point and the plane.



Serb also displayed the larger Samil, which the company official said was developed from 2022 in line with Saudi military requirements for an aerial target, with deliveries beginning at the end of 2023.



Samil has an MTOW of 105 kg, a length of 3 m, and a wingspan of 4.67 m. It is launched using a rocket booster and powered by a piston engine, giving it a top speed of 250 km/h, a service ceiling of 4,500 m, and a datalink range of 60 km. The official said it can carry an 18 kg payload although it is a disposable target..

Saudi Arabia and the UAE are heading towards the South Korean K2ME tank: the coming force in armored wars​

March 10, 2025: South Korea is preparing to enhance its grip on the Middle East defense market with the disclosure of a new revolutionary addition - the K2ME tank, a sophisticated version of the main fighting tank "K2 Black Panther", designed by Hyundai Rotim to dominate the battlefield.

In an amazing rise, South Korea quickly established its position as a prominent force in the Middle East defense sector. From advanced combat aircraft to modern air defense systems, Korean military technology has become the preferred choice for many countries in the region.

During the last IDEX 2025, Hyundai Rotim revealed the K2ME tank (Middle East), a modified version of the K2 Black Panther tank, specifically designed to meet the operational needs of the Middle East, especially in desert combat environments.

Reports indicate that the K2ME tank has already attracted the attention of two states in the region - the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates - both of which are actively seeking to obtain new tanks to compensate for their old fleets or to strengthen their armored forces.

With Saudi Arabia and the UAE seeking to update their tank arsenal, South Korea sees a great opportunity to provide them with new generation tanks such as K2me, which was developed by Hyundai Rotim.

Competition for control in the Middle East tank market is heading to become a fierce battle, and South Korea has already started its strategic moves.



According to estimates, Saudi Arabia and the UAE are looking forward to huge investments in this field, with $ 12.42 billion allocating to buy new tanks, making this market a major attraction for South Korean defense exports.

The most prominent advantages of the K2ME tank lies in the entire domestic payment and transportation system, a technical achievement that allows South Korea to overcome foreign export restrictions.

By integrating the MTO system (improving movement and transportation) developed locally, South Korea has reformulated the arms trade rules, allowing the export of K2me to any country in the Middle East without restrictions or external interference.



The K2ME tank features a 120 mm smooth gun equipped with an automatic download system, allowing the use of programmed munitions to enhance combat flexibility.

Secondary arms include an arms station that is controlled remotely RCWS installed on the driver's tower by 12.7 mm, as well as a 7.62 mm axial machine gun, providing additional capabilities for attack and defense.

To deal with the harsh conditions in the desert, K2ME has a advanced cooling and filtration system to ensure reliable performance in high temperature environments.

With this innovation, K2me has become a symbol of South Korea's ability to provide advanced and independent solutions in the global defense market, giving it a decisive competitive advantage in the race towards arming the Middle East.
