Serb Advanced Industries Company (Serb) gets a "suicide drone" production contract for the Saudi army

Saudi Arabia's Serb Advanced Industries confirmed that it is mass-producing small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for the Saudi military
A company official told Janes that both the Jaser and larger Samil are in production, although he declined to name which branch of the Saudi military has ordered them

The Jasser plane with a range of up to 60 kilometers, has the ability to target the enemy's static and mobile targets, which reaches a speed of 90 km/h, thanks to that it is equipped with thermal and daytime cameras that can be directed manually or by computer to lock on the target automatically and also supports targeting by GPS and is launched by an air pressure platform and flying at a height of up to 4000 meters. The plane carries a variety of different types of munition, according to the task and with a 3 kg weight and it is operated by only two operators, as it is a total weight of 11 kg, and it is also resistant to communications breach between the direction point and the plane.

Serb also displayed the larger Samil, which the company official said was developed from 2022 in line with Saudi military requirements for an aerial target, with deliveries beginning at the end of 2023.

Samil has an MTOW of 105 kg, a length of 3 m, and a wingspan of 4.67 m. It is launched using a rocket booster and powered by a piston engine, giving it a top speed of 250 km/h, a service ceiling of 4,500 m, and a datalink range of 60 km.
