The Tawazun Council, the Naval Group and Marakeb Technologies signed a strategic partnership agreement to develop the national system for naval combat management in the UAE, with the aim of enhancing the capabilities of the naval forces and developing defense competencies through the full transfer of technology. and technical capabilities.
The signing of the agreement comes within the framework of empowering the defense and security industries sector in the UAE, supporting the rapid development witnessed by the sector, and creating an integrated system for marine technology tasks. Provides national defense solutions for future needs.
During the project, there is cooperation with “Marakeb Technologies”, one of the companies of the Strategic Sectors Development Fund, as a local national partner for this project.
The signing of the agreement took place in the presence of Sharif Hashem Al Hashemi, Chief Operating Officer of the Tawazun Council, Lillian Braille, Executive Vice President of Combat Systems and Equipment at Naval Group, Basil Shuhaiber, CEO of Marakeb Technologies, and a number of officials.
Under the agreement, Naval Group is working to develop the national system for naval combat management, providing advanced solutions that respond to the operational requirements of the UAE Navy, and providing the full ability to operate, manage and control its naval fleet.
His Excellency Muammar Abdullah Abu Shehab, CEO of the Tawazun Council, said that the project to develop the “National Maritime Combat Management System” for the benefit of the UAE Navy comes within the framework of efforts to empower the defense and security industries sector and obtain the best technology related to defense systems, which will enable It contributes to strengthening the UAE’s position in this sector, which is witnessing a qualitative shift in various fields related to it.
He added, "The system aims to achieve support for operational competencies, provide national solutions through which the system can be developed and adapted nationally through the national partner, and qualify national competencies, in addition to providing the armed forces' needs for advanced defense products."
He explained that the project provides sovereign advantages for controlling, modifying and modernizing the system in line with the uses of the UAE Navy, through technology transfer, which contributes to drawing a promising road map for national defense capabilities.
For his part, Pierre-Eric Pommillet, CEO of Naval Group, said: “This step is considered one of the important steps towards consolidating our long-term partnership and cooperation with the Tawazun Council.
