Makkah Defence Alliance: Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan, news & updates

If you don't have cashflow from oil you don't have wealth, you have a potential fire sale of your assets, for a country like Saudi
That's an exaggeration of epic proportion... houthis control of Bab Al Mandeb is a temporary glitch , it won't damage Saudi interests in the long run.... Saudis won't go broke because of it.....same with the Hormuz.

Here is the thing, muslim population is now over 2 billion and todays Muslim have modernized and majority of them who can afford the pilgrimage are no longer used to walking 10s of miles in scorching sun nor used to living in tents without AC and other amenities. The todays architecture in Mecca is designed to cater for todays Muslim lifestyle and population size has increased. If the population was few million thrn no need for tall buildings.

Hmm...
You're telling me what?
If you didn't get it... say so... what you've posted is a non sequitur.

So, let me break it to you... the modern Muslim!
Makkah per our faith was a desolate, barren land... devoid of life!
When Ibrahim(A.S.) was commanded to leave his wife and child ON NOTHING BUT FAITH AND TURN.
That child bawled for water... the mother, ran back and forth in wilderness. Water sprouted for that life in that barren desolate hot valley...
That city doesn’t exist because it was on a waterfront... because it was a lush pasture teaming with life. It exists for one purpose and one purpose alone because THE ALMIGHTY WILLED IT!
And millions take that journey of hardship peering into the void of life... some finding a deeper meaning... others repentance... and some as ultimate worship.
Since then humanity has been through much... that deeper meaning still exists... but people took their world to Makkah instead of bringing some from there back home.

So, to answer you... the modern Muslim suffers the exhaustion of imitation in futility... apping those who lost their ways prior to the renewal.
And this will continue till we need another reset!

Saudis will go broke because of pie in the sky mega projects for which they were buggered by western consultants and now realize they cannot realize even 10% of them even if they dump all their wealth in there.

The issue isnt that the kingdom doesnt have fallback wealth or that it cannot afford things - it is that it put blind trust in western consultants - while many not really in the mood to change and do work until MBS came in to start some change.

They realized how much they were lied too on project scale and budgets by their contracts on everything from NEOM to the LINE and others - that they are taking serious austerity measures now and hypercharging their Saudization.

The infrastructure is rock solid in many places but with achillees heels everywhere.
This goes also for their defensive postures - they will be given solutions by everyone including well qualified Saudis but unless the get a nod of approval from the white boy(as in "We agree, its a good idea you have") - they wont move an inch to even secure their behind.

Agreed 💯 ... Saudis are nurturing too many white elephants.
