I get the feeling that a large-scale, Desert Storm-type military operation led by the MDA is being planned against the Houthis in Yemen.

Nothing appears to be being rushed. Everything seems to be being carefully worked out, with the alliance gradually putting its military coordination and capabilities into place.

Remember, the US took around six months to build up its forces and establish the coalition before launching Operation Desert Storm in January 1991. The massive military build-up began in August 1990, while the air campaign didn't begin until 17 January 1991.

The Makkah Defence Alliance is only weeks old. Its military chiefs have only just begun discussing intelligence cooperation, military coordination and capability integration. So why would anyone expect a fully developed military operation to happen overnight?

If a major operation against the Houthis is ultimately being prepared, I'd expect the same thing: planning, force positioning, logistics, intelligence coordination and preparation first — then action.

I don't think so, the whole point of all the recent MDA chiefs meeting was/is try and get the Houthis to stop attacking Saudi directly, nothing else. No one has any desire to go into Yemen itself.
