I don’t think people understand how long these things actually take. Türkiye needs at least a decade for our major defence projects to fully mature, KAAN, TF‑2000, Gökbey, MIUS, the new missile families, radar systems, and the rest. Only after that kind of ecosystem is stable could anyone even start thinking about nuclear capability. There are no plans for it now, and honestly, we’ve all seen what happened to Iran. That’s not a mistake Türkiye wants to repeat.

But a decade from now? When our aerospace, missile, and deterrence programs are fully developed? At that point, Türkiye might be in a very different strategic position and far more interested in exploring nuclear options. Right now, though, it’s simply not on the agenda.

Turkiye provides the critical tech-transfer and manufacturing know-how

Turkiye has also hybrid asymmetric warfare experience , well trained Armed Forces in NATO standard

and Turkiye with the second largest number of troops abroad after the US ( Iraq , Syria , Azerbaijan , Libya , N.Cyprus , Albania , Bosnia , Kosova , Qatar , Somalia )

I think if Iran tries to get nukes still and Israel seriously threatens Turkiye then they will go for nukes, Erdagon did not let lack of F-35 stop him, he initiated Kaan, Erdagon did not let German engine sanctions or US engine sanctions stop him, he intiated his own programmes.
If issue becomes serious and Erdagon is still in power I do not think he will want his country to be surrounded by nuclear armed Israel and Iran

Building nuclear weapons and being in a position to build nuclear weapons anytime you want are different things. Turkey already approve building 16 nuclear plant and one of them can be like Khushab Platinium Complex, If we can build this infrastructure, rest will be just about will..

Joint defense production is the real deal however there's a fear it may create friction among the three .... every country will vie for maximum production in her country and delay the projects in bureaucratic red tapes

Unsure, Saudis may not even have the capability or manpower here to build, Turks have great design skills but can use Pak factories to increase mass, just like MILGEM and Jinnah built in Pak

Bro, you’re right ...Türkiye only started pushing hard on defence projects because of the F‑35 drama, engine sanctions, and all the other nonsense. But people forget this didn’t magically begin in 2016. Our entire modern defence industry was born out of the Cyprus sanctions in the 1970s. That’s when Turkish defence companies were created, and that’s the foundation that eventually led to KAAN, MIUS, Gökbey, Atak, Hisar, Siper, and everything else.

So yeah, we’ve been building this capability for decades, not overnight.

But when it comes to nukes, it’s a completely different story. Iran had 40 years to prepare, build alliances, secure supply chains, and avoid isolation.. and they still ended up in a position where everyone is trying to stop them. They even tried helping Armenia against us(Azerbaijan), so obviously we don’t want them anywhere near nuclear weapons.

For Türkiye, the smart move is to learn from Iran’s mistakes, not repeat them. We should only think about nuclear capability once our defence ecosystem is fully mature ...when we’re capable of actually winning a war outright, not stuck in truce‑based stop‑start conflicts. That means a decade of solid development first, then maybe we can talk about nukes from a position of strength.

Right now, it’s not on the agenda.. and that’s exactly why we’re building KAAN, engines, missiles, radars, and everything else. Build strength first, then decide the next step.

100% agree. However, depending on relationship with Pak, if Turkiye decides to go nuclear I think it can get it down very quickly. In an internet and AI age Turks will not face the hardships Pakistan did with weapons blue prints, all it will need is enrichment

Lets not underestimate Saudi capital though. Much of the hundreds of billions they pour into European and American defence companies that help build inredible munitions and weapons building capacity in Turkiye and Pakistan that can aid Saudi
