China's customs data for July 2026 show imports of electronic integrated circuits worth about $63.83 billion in that single month. A UIBE trade-data analysis gives a closely related “chip products” figure of about $63.92 billion, up 70.9% YoY.

Even more remarkable, during January–July 2026, China imported roughly $361.8-362.4 billion of IC/chip products. Its largest sources were Taiwan (~$112.45bn), South Korea (~$108.89bn) and Japan (~$31.93bn).

There is also a fascinating change in China's import structure. January-July IC imports were up 58.3% in value but only about 8.2% in physical units. That means the average imported value per IC rose enormously, roughly 46% by one calculation.

And China simultaneously exported about $216bn of ICs during Jan–July. So its gross semiconductor trade looked approximately like:
IC imports → $361.8bn
IC exports → $216.0bn
Net IC imports → ~$145.8bn

Despite possessing one of the world's deepest semiconductor manufacturing ecosystems.

No major manufacturing economy has a perfectly national supply chain. China importing ~$64bn of ICs in one month is an extreme contemporary demonstration of it.

More semiconductors = more exports.
China has own DUV machines and soon own EUV machines with logic folding technique. This is why your source explains 216billion in semiconductor exports too. That will grow exponentially when EUV machines are in working order.

China cracking that 1.4trillion surplus in trade this year so all looking great!

Mainly used for AI, USA and China are competing in AI
Europe are watching AI show

China now able to make own DUV machines soon EUV machines. China will no doubt be the global leader in semiconductors within the next 10 years also.

China has started producing its own domestic immersion Deep Ultraviolet (DUV) lithography machines to reduce its reliance on foreign technology. [1]

Production Scale and Timeline
    • Initial output: China plans to build about 5 machines in 2026 and roughly 20 machines in 2027.
    • Target buyers: These tools are going to major domestic chipmakers like SMIC, Hua Hong, and CXMT.
    • Context: According to a report by Reuters, this effort helps Chinese factories find alternative gear as Western export restrictions tighten. Additional notes from PC Gamer indicate that local firms are balancing domestic tools alongside existing foreign equipment. [1, 2, 3]

Key Companies Involved
    • Shanghai Aishengna: A state-backed company leading the manufacturing effort.
    • Partner networks: The project incorporates teams from local startups and developers like Yuliangsheng and Shanghai Micro Electronics Equipment (SMEE). [1, 2, 3]

Capabilities and Limits
    • Technology level: The machines use 193nm light and water immersion to print fine circuit patterns.
    • Current gap: These local tools still lag behind ASML in speed, reliability, and high-volume manufacturing yield. [1, 2, 3]

China has set a governmental target of 2028 to produce working chips from its domestic extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography prototype, though industry experts and analysts view 2030 as a more realistic timeline. [1]

Current Prototype Status
    • Location: A high-security laboratory in Shenzhen houses the prototype, which was assembled by former engineers from Dutch firm ASML. [1, 2]
    • Capabilities: The machine successfully generates EUV light at the required 13.5-nanometer wavelength, but it has not yet printed functional, production-ready semiconductor chips. [1]
    • Design Differences: The domestic prototype fills an entire factory floor—making it much larger than commercial ASML systems—and currently operates at a lower wattage and lower wafer throughput. [1]

Its hilarious to look back on these posts years from now.

Indians laughed at Chinese EVs like Elon musk now they are crying
Indians laughed at J-10 now there is 6th gen J-36/j-50 and now Indians crying
Indians laughed at Varyag and now China has 3 aircraft carriers with many more nuclear ones on the way and now indians crying

I can guarantee in 10 years time China will be dominating semiconductor chips and once again we will have indians crying.

it's interesting to note that Chinese exports of chips this year has also increased drastically, not just the imports. The gap between the two has narrowed significantly this year. It's likely that China will become one of the dominant chips producers in the not too distant future, China now produces 20% share of world chips similar size to SK, only Taiwan is on top.

Massive Chinese Ram dump to crash global market when?

Asking for a friend.

Lol, what do chips have to do with your country Syria. No concern for you people. China this bad, that bad, lol.

Google AI Answer:

Did china do Massive Chinese Ram dump lately ?

No, China has not carried out a massive global RAM dump to flood or crash the market, despite earlier industry rumors and past discounting on older DDR4 memory. [1, 2]

Current Market Reality
    • Shift to Modern Tech: Chinese memory maker CXMT (ChangXin Memory Technologies) shifted its focus from old DDR4 chips to newer DDR5 and advanced mobile memory production. [1, 2]
    • Strong Global Demand: High demand from AI data centers absorbs most new memory chips worldwide, which prevents a massive oversupply or price collapse. [1, 2]
    • Competitive Pricing, Not Dumping: Market data shows that Chinese DRAM selling prices are only about 5% to 10% lower than major rivals like Samsung and Micron—not low enough to count as aggressive market dumping.

He prob just wants to buy a cheaper PC. I spent 4.5k aud on a pc recently and honestly couldn't care less about the price. I buy a PC once every 8-10years and a few hundred bucks difference makes no difference to me.
