Why take a U-turn? The boycott was never announced by India — it was stated by the PCB chairman. That makes the question very valid: will Pakistan actually boycott? Pakistani media has been repeating this since yesterday. Since India hasn’t said anything, the real question remains — will Pakistan forfeit its matches and pull out of the Asia Cup?

At the same time, the Indian government has already allowed the team to face Pakistan in multination tournaments, and that continues and followed; its now a open sports policy of india

Now, when the PCB chairman comes forward with threats of a boycott if a particular match referee isn’t removed, shouldn’t the PCB also stand by what it has committed? If they backtrack, who will take their chairman’s future statements seriously, especially when such hype cannot be backed by action?

DUBAI/ LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has demanded the removal of match referee Andy Pycroft from the ongoing Asia Cup. In a letter written to the International Cricket Council (ICC) and Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), the board warned it would reconsider continuing in the tournament if Pycroft is not removed.

According to sources, the PCB in its letter accused Pycroft of neglecting the game spirit in Sunday’s clash between Pakistan and India in Dubai. The board said it had repeatedly stressed the importance of protecting the spirit of the game, but the referee neglected his duties. It further alleged that Pycroft violated the ICC Code of Conduct and acted against the MCC laws, calling his behaviour a ‘serious breach’ of sports rules.

The controversy began after Indian players refused handshake with their Pakistani counterparts following the match. Pakistan head coach Mike Hesson strongly criticised the conduct, describing it as ‘against the spirit of the game’.

Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav fueled tensions further with political remarks after the win. “We stand with the victims of the Pahalgam attack and their families. We dedicate today’s win to our armed forces,” Yadav said.

Reacting to the incident, Pakistan team manager Naveed Akram Cheema lodged a formal protest, terming India’s behaviour ‘a violation of sportsmanship’. He also revealed that the match referee had advised the captains not to shake hands at the toss, but gave no such instruction for after the game.

As a mark of protest, Pakistan skipper Salman Ali Agha skipped the post-match presentation ceremony. Coach Hesson defended the decision, saying: “What the Indian team did was inappropriate. Pakistan’s response was natural.”

Why threaten and do a hijda dance ? If they had any self -respect , they should have pulled out before the toss when the match referree had clearly told the Pakistani captain that the Indian team would not shake hands with them. Why do a randi rona after the match like sore losers ?

And, why are they so desperate to shake hands with the team that is treating them with such utter contempt in the first place ? Show some ghairat instead of yelping like cucks.

We were always prepared to continue playing sports in a civilised manner but they themselves have spurned that gesture because their egos are so damaged by their military losses. It's pathetic.

Can their military not win wars, so it has to deploy their ugly sportsmen in some bizarre interpretation of a hybrid war?

I would be embarrassed even more by this if I were an Indian soldier.

We should not exactly "boycott" though. Rather, we should demand that they stay true to their declared national policy (as their cricketers have ALREADY openly declared national govermental level interference in the sport in their post-match interviews) and they should be forced to forfeit all tournament fixtures with us. If a tournament is scheduled in Pakistan, they should refuse to turn up and forfeit the whole tournament.

This should remain enforced until and unless there is some regime change in Pakistan which alters their perception of our civilians to the point that they are happy to accept that Pakistani civilians are not some "enemy" of theirs.

This way, we can actually help them to properly implement their national policy, as opposed to this "pick n mix" sense of faux outrage they feel presently.

Can Indian friends kindly advise if this proposal is reasonable and a fair reflection of Delhi's stated and dictated policies?

Dekho, I want a 5 match bilateral red ball series, we should play it across both mulks (or a hybrid.. do idhar, teen udhar type scene) every couple years, or every 3 years.. world cup and Ashes ke beech ka timeframe.

but sadly, things as they stand now, are inexorably linked.. sport and politics.

In India, the central government runs the BCCI.. jin ki kursi, un hi ki sway, un hi ka danda chalta hai.

Of course, this being the gentleman's game that it is, politicians ka bhi generally amiable scene rehta hai across party lines when it comes to fun and partying and much money and ayaashi environments.

Lol, these are highly paid professionals and big money involved here, not amateurs playing for the love of the sport.

Pakistan were informed that the Indian team would not shake their hands before the toss and possibly much earlier , but there was too much money involved for them to open their mouth at that time. After the Pakistani team lost the match and was also publicly snubbed by the Indian team, some politician suddenly realised their country was being humiliated and started doing randi rona.

The posturing just makes the Pakistanis look greedy for money and also sore losers lacking any self -respect.

Who won more matches in ODI and test?
And in last bilateral series in 2012/13 how Pakistan beat 5-1 . Because before last ODI your PM maohan Singh made a phone call to Pakistan PM Gillani to pleased him one match victory. Your batting line was shattered like house of cards Infront of Junaid Khan, Umar Gul, Saeed Ajmal.
Otherwise if Pakistan didn't gift one match victory.
The would be same like May2025....
