Mirage III / V of Pakistan Air Force

12 Mirage IIIELs that were delivered from France in 1968 but were then grounded in the late 1970s due to lack of funds.
These jets were then sold to none other than Pakistan - which brought the jets for the PAFs 🇵🇰 project ROSE

Were these pictures taken in Pakistan, France or Lebanon?

Here's something interesting I've learnt while doing some research.

Contrary to popular belief, Spain and Lebanon did not sell their Mirages directly to Pakistan, but both countries had returned them to France as part of their contract agreement.

They were stored in France at the aircraft storage facility, and later France sold these to Pakistan.

Hi, how credible do you think this report is? Adding an AESA radar would probably require completely new avionics, and/or, maybe a new engine to generate all the additional electric power required.

It is my personal belief the PAF should have also pursued the Denel Cheetah upgrade with the advanced combat wing to upgrade its Mirages back in the late 90s early 2000s. But alas, that time is long past...

I would say there's zero chance of that happening.

Question:

Out of the 76 ex-Libyan Mirages that Pakistan acquired, 10 were made airworthy again by October 2017.

Does anyone know whether this figure had claimed to 12 airworthy aircraft after October 2017?

More to the point, even in the very unlikely event of Mirages being upgraded, why would it be the Grifo E and the Spectra EW suite?! Most probably be Chinese avionics similar to JF17 and J10 for commonality. But point as academic anyway, not sure where this news came from, but utterly pointless.

Can anyone confirm whether this is the original 67-105 or the ex-Libyan 04-105?
you know the 67-105 is actually a Mirage 3EP

this is Mirage 3EP with Radar Removed and Recon nose placed

Original Mirage 3RP serials are 201-213
Original Mirage 3EP serials are 101-118
Original Mirage 3DP serials are 301-303

these are Blue Flash 1 mirages

Yes, you're correct. The 100 series was originally used for the IIIEPs of 1967.

But they have also been used for the retrieved Libyan ones. The following with the word confirmed against them have been spotted publicly.

??-001 -
04-002 - Confirmed
??-003 - Confirmed
00-004 -
04-005 - Confirmed
04-010 - Confirmed
04-015 - Confirmed

??-102

I'm doing a little project researching all the Mirages that Pakistan purchased.

A total of 301 were purchased in all forms new (96), as well as used, for spares and incomplete for spares.

In my table, I am listing their original serial numbers and PAF serial numbers.

To answer your question, at that time I was trying to understand whether Pakistan had purchased the ex-Lebanese directly from Lebanon or from France. The serial numbers on the aircraft were showing the Lebanese air force format not French or Pakistani.

I later learnt that Lebanon had returned their fleet to France, which the french then sold onto Pakistan. So, when the French sold these to Pakistan, were they delivered with the original Lebanese serial numbers or did France remove them / renumbered them while they were in storage and had different serial numbers. Hence, my questions.

Some of the data I've collected so far.

Once this is complete, I will be then be able to figure out how many are active and still flying with the PAF.

I hope this makes sense brother. I'm just a bit padentic when it comes to serial numbers.
