The Pakistan Air Force had a major role in the development of the United Arab Emirates Air Force (UAEAF) after it was founded in 1968. Some of its first commanders were deputed from PAF, along with many pilots and engineers that manned and looked after the aircraft.

The photos below are from 1976, when Wg Cdr Salim Baig Mirza (middle, supporting sunglasses) commanded the UAEAF Mirage squadron.
