LONDON: The secretary-general of the Muslim World League, Sheikh Mohammed Al-Issa, delivered a televised address at a forum on the values of Islamic civilization in Tashkent on Wednesday.

Speaking at the event, titled “Islamic Civilization: The Path of Peace, Tolerance and Enlightenment,” the Saudi scholar highlighted Uzbekistan’s role in Islamic history, particularly through the cities of Samarkand and Bukhara, which stood on the ancient Silk Road and contributed to the exchange of knowledge, science and religious values.

Al-Issa noted the opening of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Tashkent in March, Uzbekistan’s largest cultural, scientific and educational complex.

He also mentioned the Memorial Complex of Imam al-Bukhari, near Samarkand, which works to preserve the heritage of the Islamic scholars Imam al-Bukhari and Imam al-Tirmidhi and honors the jurist al-Maturidi, all three of whom were born in Uzbekistan.

Al-Issa said that the projects were revitalizing Islamic, scholarly and cultural heritage.

Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev is patron of the forum, which was organized by the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization and the Islamic Civilization Center in Tashkent.

About 300 speakers from 40 countries are taking part in the event, which ends on Saturday.

"Muslim World League"

😂🤣

What an oxymoron...
Well, Sir, something is better than nothing. At least we have organizations like Muslims World League and Organization of the Islamic Cooperation.

Pointless and worthless entities. What's the point of having a teapot if it's made of chocolate?

for how long will they live in these fake histories of these countries? What did that accomplish by today's standards?

yeah they're much better than Pakistan i can accept that.......

Well, Sir, at least these organizations are good for scoring diplomatic points and victories for soft power I suppose.

I think Pakistan is much better than Uzbekistan. At least we have a powerful military with nuclear weapons.

What does Uzbekistan have? Just the Mausoleum of Imam Bukhari and Imam Tirmidhi.
