How many are expected?
I don't see the anti ships and cruise missiles on the deck. Are they in VLS ?

Modern looking destroyer with decent capability. So when they are expected? Work already started OR will start at a later date ?

The expectation is that the first of the 4 TF-2000s will be delivered to the Turkish Navy in 2027-2028 period

and why dont turkish navy have any cruisers?

The line has become incredibly fluid these days on what is a frigate and what is a destroyer and what is a cruiser. They keep getting bigger every year.


Though 8000 tons usually means its a destroyer, plus the extensive Air defense and missile launch capacity.

Cruisers are too big for right now. Turkey is going at it step by step, Built out corvettes, then frigates, the next step is destoryer. These days Cruisers have mostly fallen out of fashion. Though some destroyer classes are basically cruisers.

It’s probably more role focused than anything - the classes were taken from 400 years ago and in essence mean little today as you go beyond. There are frigates more heavily armed than cruisers while destroyers having lower radar signatures than a 70s missile boat

Any idea what engine will be used in it? Ukraine also makes good engines for ships? Will it be from Ukraine or somewhere else?

The Frigate possessed less offensive firepower than a Destroyer

British and French called their Ships as a Destroyer which armed with 48x SAMs and 8x anti-ship Missiles with 6x Torpedos

TF-2000 has great offensive firepower with 96 cells VLS to fire 64+48 SAMs , 16x anti-ship Missiles and 16x land attack Cruise Missiles with 6x Torpedos

We can arm TF-2000 with 64+32 SAMs and 16 or 32x anti-ship missiles and 16 or 32 x cruise missiles

( Load configuration may vary depending on the task )

so TF-2000 is a Destroyer with tonnage and fire power to escort upcoming Turkish Carrier Battle Group

Most probably 2x American GE LM2500 Gas turbine Engines + 2x German MTU diesel Engines for CODOG type of propulsion system

Turkiye aims to develop Engines up to 5.000 hp for naval platforms
Ukraine produce gas turbine Engines for naval platforms which powered even Russian and Chinese Warships

Turkiye can work with Ukraine to develop Gas turbine Engines for naval platforms

I would want to see 200m Turkish Joint Firepower Ship to carry 200 TAYFUN - CENK Ballistic Missiles and GEZGIN land attack Cruise Missiles also hypersonic Missiles to operate with Carrier Strike Group after 2035
