Side note, there is a battle of ideas, and what Obama’s tenure Hasan the years since, is that mobilizing voters is more necessary to win elections than appeals to bipartisanship, unfortunately. It’s something Zohran has signaled with his victory speech, and will probably campaign hard and unify behind Gov. Hochul and Congressional democrats, to ensure he can get the funds to make his promises come to pass.



This is why Hochul knows she NEEDS Mamdani and Mamdani knows he NEEDS Hochul. As long as the terms of the “marriage contract” are good for both and will be honored, they will back each other in hopes of fulfilling their mutual agenda after the 2026 election. So, we will probably see them campaigning together in 2026, early on and throughout the state.

What will be interesting to see if Cuomo mayoral race voters come back to vote for Hochul. That will be very important to watch.

We can see her message will be anti-Trump and to back up Mamdani’s pledges. 4:30-specifically 7:25 onwards.

I agree with you, i will add that those individual acts of violence can go out of control any moment so credit where credit is due that US agencies keep those crazies in control, I bet lots of militias are itching for some civil war type BS so they can use all that ammo they buy on Black Friday deals or those MRE's.
I just don't see a full blown civil war happening in USA, not just because that people and comfort of life but those filthy rich corporations and cabals who are running USA internal and external politics it suits for a control chaos in US rather than a civil war with extreme violence which will then spiral out of control, people these days hate each other with a passion and tendency to commit violence which bothers me, and then when i see nutjobs like Right wingers with AR-15's, that is definitely not a good sight to behold.

You know me, I studied history; if you ask any historian, they will most likely tell you the same things. We are currently very close to 1930s Germany. Now, you can have your own political ideology —that's fine. What's not fine is the government's power grab. And in an insane way. Look at the National Guard deployment, a few years ago, you wouldn't think that is possible, but here we are, using troops to simply arrest people.

The problem is not what the current admin was doing; the problem is what these actions will lead to future government reaction. Does that make them think posting National Guard troops in deep red states or Bible states is okay? How would you feel if the President of the United States activated the Florida National Guard or deployed the Virginia National Guard in your street in Florida?

Wars are always a direct result to 1 or 2 government actions away, I mean the same question you can ask, "Was slavery worth it over 800,000 American deaths? When people who own slaves and people who don't live a prosperous life live themselves," It wasn't really a hard time back when the Civil War broke out, and you probably live a better life if you own slaves. So why fight about that? The answer is simple, as in most wars comes down to, it's Ideology. You don't look at nutjob from both sides carrying AR-15 just at the face value, you need to look at why people are carrying AR-15 to begin with, and it won't take that much to have these people think the government is turning against them, either left or right. And you don't fight a war when you want to, you fight a war when you need to, and don't underestimate the will of ignorant people to defend their ideology.

It will only be possible in an effort to regain congress and for the state government to promise to allocate those funds given from Washington to this program.

In Long Island on of the biggest problems is adult children not being able to buy homes near the areas where they grow up. This can be a way to address that issue, but you are right that it’s too much of an effort for just the state or local municipalities to take on.

Long island and NY city are nearly half the state population, and where housing affordability and availability are the most pronounced.

Where will Washington get the money? Repealing the BBB and associated tax cuts, and not pour the saving into healthcare, which is the largest rising costs in the country. Furthermore, grow in defense spending will have to be slowed or reversed; remember Obama’s sequestration. Obviously interest rates will have to be brought down to slow the growth on interest payments on the national debt.

So a lot will have to be done at the federal level, and so it will have to an interconnected pillar of the democratic pillar at the municipal, state and national levels, across all states.

lol, funny you mentioned Newsnation. I started watching them in 2021 after their coverage of a woman missing (Gabby something) and subsequently found dead. They pose themselves as a neutral media, but they really aren't; they were extremely left-leaning during Biden and extremely right-leaning during Trump now. And that's saying something, isn't it.

As for NY State race, I don't know whether Kochul would need Mandani to win, on a national level, yes, because you can't let people see the dem is fractured. Everything needs to be laser-focused, but at a state level, if NJ and VA race were tight or even lost it outright, that may be different, the fact that both NJ and VA race were won in that majority so quickly during the first year of the Trump presidency is actually bad news for Mandani, because both state don't run on the same platform Mandani is running on, and New York is probably Bluer than VA and NJ combine. I can't honestly say Hochul would need Mandani if we are just talking about a state-level election. Mandani needs Hochul's help to institute his policy because she is the governor, and he is just a mayor. I don't see how or what Hochul would get in return. And I suspected this is the reason why the honcho in the Democratic party still refused to embrace Mandani's win, that race was 4 days ago, and there aren't many Democratic establishment come out to even congratulate Mandani

The problem coming around the pike for Long Island are the costly need for maintenance in suburbia. Hochul has a plan to rezone near transit, but is being fought in many municipalities. It will come down to if the Dems win in 2026, especially in these municipalities to change the zoning:



Furthermore, there maybe a need to build developments of townhouses, in one large push to have a hope of using economies of scale to bring the cost down and stretch any subsidies approved. There is just not enough housing for the demand, many voters will back a simple message of “Build Baby Build”.

If Stefanik wants to have a fighting chance, she needs Trump and the Republicans to come up with a counter plan.



The future for suburbia maybe building housing in the following manner, and parts do NYC; building in backyards and building up. Not unlike Japan with their three story single family homes on small parcels of land.

Leland Vitter (or something like that) is an ex-Fox anchor, and he is "right" to the extreme. Cuomo is a fence-sitter; he basically praises anyone and everyone in the administration. The other female anchors are just, well, equally bad. I would much rather they do it the way CNN and FOX where they claim to be one side and try to explore ideas from the other.

Anyway, going back to New York City. I don't know, think of it this way, who would Mandani back if it's not Hochul? The closest I can think of is either Alvin Bragg or Leticia James, the DA who convicted Trump and the NY Attorney General. Neither of them is the way Mandani is (I don't think anyone in the NY Political scene is), which means his backing them may blow back to him, and unless some NY congressmen/congresswomen decide to run as Governor, I don't see anyone who can challenge Hochul.

GOP winning anything in NY is even harder. Chances are, there is a blue wave coming, while we don't know the extent of it as it was just NYC got an election 4 days ago, but if we apply the NJ and VA swing, then every one of the 6 Republican Congress delegates of the 26 district would be out of the job, including Stefanik and Malliotakis, which elected with a CPVI of R +10, if there is a swing of 12+% of Dem gain, both seat were unsafe. Probably the relatively safer seat for Republicans is Claudia Tenney with 30 points lead (Which means if there is a 12-point swing, Tenney still sitting on 6-point lead). Of course, you can't expect House of Rep race and statewide races are going to be the same, but that should still send shockwave to any sitting NY republican congressman and congresswoman

Antonio Delgado is the Lt. Gov and he’s running to challenge Hochul. If Mamdani endorses him instead of Hochul, she will have a hard time winning the primary. Delgado will be more beholden to Zohran and be more willing to back his further left agenda. So it’s better for Hochul (and NY business community) to negotiate terms to get his endorsement. Delgado could run on further left campaign and still win on the back of a blue wave.

Delgado is currently at 13.3% and Hochul is around 40-42% in the early polls. But as we saw with Zohran, that can change quick. Zohran and his 100,000 volunteers could mobilize next year for Delgado if Hochul does come to terms with Zohran. Her current measured enthusiasm makes it appear that negotiations are ongoing.
