NYC may be okay for singles, but there are so many suburbs that are better to raise a family. Many move to the likes of Greenwich and Short Hills every year.

Mamdani is just going to accelerate the exodus of businesses and the rich that is happening anyway.

Many wealthy are single for a lot longer. Many are single again, after short marriages.

The suburbs are better for families. But this election is about making the lives of people living in New York better; affordable and more humane. It’s about hitting the right balance.

P.s. Forgot about two other very important things New York is good at. Some of the best medical care in the country, due to the most experienced staff. Also there are long enduring food selections you just can’t get anywhere else in the country. Sure food is food, but there is something about certain establishments that hits home for many wealthy old timers. Katz Deli is one of them.

Being able to afford to live in the city you grew up in, even if you bust your behind, working your way through school, is not a radical idea.

USA is a large country. If SF or NY is more expensive move somewhere else.

We have to parch out the two populations you are looking at, the high trust play by the rules people that support him for the policies on their face, and the low trust behavior of people that want free stuff and don’t contribute back to society. There are far more in the first category, especially amongst his supporters, than in the later, especially amongst the working class. Just look at childcare workers, hence the high cost of child care when the cost is adjusted for the salaries of the workers to be able to afford to live in the city.

Child care workers are paid minimum wage. Moving somewhere else is usually a privilege, not something a common person can do easily.

It's always easy to spend other people's money. The problem is, once you run out, what then?

NYC already has rent control yet look at the cost of renting. So what problem is he really trying to solve?

Mamdani is just another version of the Pied Piper. Play the song the people want to hear yet nothing is going to change.

As some of you know, I'm a boomer. Grew up in the 60s / 70s. So I was around when LBJ started his "Great War on Poverty".

With as much money that has been spent on attacking poverty, there should be no homeless or hungry people in this country outside of those who chose to be.

So why do we still have homeless and hungry people in this country?
