Please note that the premise is that there is no intervention from any third country.

Advanced air power and air superiority are built upon the strategic depth provided by the ground forces. That is, we must ensure the security of our airfields before we can talk about air superiority.

The entire Korean Peninsula is only so large. The entire territory of South Korea is within range of North Korean ground forces' firepower, including all air bases, naval bases, civilian airports, and strategic highways capable of emergency fighter jet landings and takeoffs.

If South Korea initiates the attack:
North Korea's population and military facilities are widely dispersed, with many military facilities hidden underground, in caves, or within reinforced fortifications. These facilities would require many rounds of prolonged airstrikes to inflict significant damage.
However, the moment the first South Korean fighter jet crosses the 38th parallel, North Korea's counterattack begins. They have the capability to destroy all of South Korea's airports in an instant. South Korean fighter jets that have already taken off will only be able to inflict the first wave of damage on North Korea before being permanently eliminated from the fight.
After a massive artillery bombardment of South Korea, North Korea will launch a ground offensive.

If North Korea initiates the attack:
South Korean air force fighter jets will have no possibility of taking off.

Where would South Korea get air superiority from?

Please note that in the last Korean War, the North Korean army only took 3 days to capture the South Korean capital. Even with the participation of the US 24th Infantry Division, they only took a little over a month to occupy 90% of South Korea's territory and 92% of its population, compressing the US-South Korean forces into the Busan defensive perimeter.

If I remember my readings correctly, at the time, the 24th ID wasn't even at full strength.

Kim Jong-un himself is a relatively open-minded person. He received a Western education in Europe from a young age.

When he first came to power, he was quite conservative. But after he purged many of the old officials and gained real power, he began to govern the country according to his own ideas.

Good observation. Although to be honest I don't remember watching any scenes of Kim Jong-Il inspecting the army,I remember seeing him in videos always talking with high ranking officials and party members,always giving advice or discussing stuff.

Kim Jong-il was born in the Soviet Union and grew up in a highly centralized and intensely competitive social environment. This is completely different from the environment in which Kim Jong-un grew up.

Kim Il-sung was born in Korea during the Japanese occupation. However, his revolutionary career unfolded in China.

At a young age, he fled to China with his parents. He began his education and grew up in Jilin Province, China, and was deeply influenced by Chinese culture. As an adult, he joined the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) and engaged in revolutionary work with the Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army in northeastern China. His highest military rank was captain.

After Japan's surrender in 1945, he returned to Korea. With the support of the Soviet Union, he became the supreme leader of North Korea.

Jong Il was treated almost if not like a diety, people heard legends, the new guy seems to have ditched that stuff and is interacting like a human being.

North Korea's weapons development is progressing rapidly, beyond our imagination.

The United States, the United Kingdom, France, Israel, India, South Korea, and Japan have not yet equipped hypersonic missiles, but North Korea, Iran, and Yemen have.

Our view is consistent that these countries are all friendly to Russia; Russia has provided technology to North Korea and has also supplied hypersonic missiles to these countries.

It could lend a hand today, but a nuclear-powered missile submarine isn't something you'll build in a year or two.
The first partial photos of this submarine appeared in March 2025,

and the outer hull (which envelops the internal hull) seemed already formed, so construction work should have begun at least in early 2023, but I'm opting for a timeframe earlier than that.
Work will certainly begin after the project is completed and after the submarine's main internal components are available, including the nuclear propulsion system, which must be installed before the hull is closed.
Therefore, the start of work certainly predates the most recent renewed strategic alliance between Russia and North Korea.
There may have been prior assistance, even if unofficially. The North Koreans may have obtained blueprints, they have excellent hackers who have even managed to hack into important Western military sites, but ultimately, they're doing the work themselves, as they've demonstrated with the new destroyers.

At the 8th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea, held in 2021, North Korea had developed a "Five-Year Plan for the Development of Science and Weapon Systems for National Defense," which clearly stated that it would "build nuclear submarines" and make nuclear weapons smaller and lighter.

Rereading my notes, in the mid-1990s, Kim Jong-il was photographed next to a model submarine while I listened to a presentation by Vice Marshal Kim Kwang-jin, then Vice Minister of the People's Armed Forces. It appears that North Korea had already begun developing large submarines around 1995, or was preparing to do so shortly. Vice Marshal Kim Kwang-jin is also said to have been awarded the title of Hero of the Republic for successfully completing what the North Korean media called "the task assigned by Kim Jong-il."

By 1993, with the dissolution of the USSR in full swing and resources lacking, the ships of the Russian Pacific Fleet were falling into disrepair, to the point that many were being sold for scrap. North Korea took advantage of this and purchased a Krivak-class frigate and a dozen Golf- and Foxtrot-class submarines for scrap. However, some OSINT sources later claimed that North Korea had also acquired two decommissioned nuclear submarines. They claimed that, as with the Krivak-class frigate, North Korea had dismantled and reverse-engineered them to acquire the technological know-how needed to build nuclear-powered submarines.
This has no official confirmation, and I don't expect it ever will, but given that the North Koreans, starting with their antiquated technology from the 1990s, built their own nuclear-powered submarine in just over 30 years, one might think there is some truth to it.
