Old Man's Corners

1968 was also the year that Denny McLain won 30 games. He was the last 30 game winner in MLB.

Another good day for working outside. A little breezy but not bad in the least. Making progress on the shed. All walls are up. Need to set 4 more studs then I will start on the ridge beam and set some rafters. More photos tonight.

Have to do some funny math. My radial arm saw has a degrees indicator on it. That's great but would like to be able to set the cuts for the pitch. Why? Am doing a 1:4 pitch on the roof. In degrees, that is 18.43 degrees. There is no 18.43 degrees on the indicator. So I may set at 18 degrees and adjust accordingly.

Or, I could lay out a 1:4 pitch with the rafter square use the jig saw to cut.

I know......1st world problems.

You better put pavers around the perimeter. After 15 years of quiet Covid 19 brought a flurry of rats to my nice affluent suburb and they see your shed floor as a condominium roof. My shed base got attacked with tunneling to the point the whole thing had to be ripped out.

We put 1 sq foot cement pavers around the perimeter with those

medium size landscape rocks.

Trust me just do it. Save yourself future aggravation.
