MLB playoff odds are based on 25000 simulations of the rest of the season and playoffs. The team's estimated quality is determined by their performance over their last 100 regular season games (even if it spans seasons) and includes a regression to the mean factor. These results are based on standings through 2026-05-19. This page does not update during the postseason.

Wow......Steelers took a hit. Would have thought with Mike McCarthy coming onboard to replace Mike Tomlin and Rodgers coming back for another season would have been a boost.

Interestingly, as a testimonial to Rooney family loyalty towards the coaches, Mike McCarthy is the 4th coach to lead the team in 57 years.

The Arizona Cardinals have had 8 head coaches since 2000.

But Mccarthy is in his 60s. In the past the steelers always picked a coach in his 40s. So I'm not sure how long Mccarthy is going to last?

Very true.

In a way, I'm wondering if McCarthy was picked because of his history with Rodgers. Frankly, Rodgers is a bit overrated at this stage of the game. He's certainly no Tom Brady and a bit full of himself. He hasn't meshed as well with the Steelers organization as someone of his caliber should.

McCarthy might be able to keep Rodger's ego in check. Who knows.
