CORDES LAKES, Ariz.–
Search and rescue teams are looking for a missing 70-year-old Arizona man whose vehicle was swept away during flooding on Tuesday in Yavapai County.

According to the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office, residents called 911 after a car was swept up in flash flooding in Big Bug Creek in Cordes Lakes.

Upon arriving at the scene, YCSO deputies noticed a small car floating downstream with two men on top of the vehicle's trunk.

A deputy quickly entered the raging floodwaters and managed to pull one man to safety as the floodwaters caused the car to turn over, YCSO said.

The rescued man told the deputy he went into the floodwaters to try and save the driver of the car that got pulled into the flooding.

The 70-year-old driver was last seen as the car was carried downstream.

YCSO said the car was found two miles downstream, lodged next to a tree.

Search teams found no one in or around the car.

"Please help keep yourself safe by exercising caution and avoiding dangerous areas throughout the county during this week's hazardous weather event," Yavapai County Sheriff's Office said.

We happened to have 2 different topical applications. One being the Walgreens equivalent of Ben-gay and the other no idea whose it is but no smell. On that one, the directions say to apply 3-4 times per day but for no more than 5 or 6 days. Don't remember at the moment. The Walgreens stuff; no limit on use mentioned.

Okay, so I have been feeling little guilty about Ben-gay: As you know, I went to Pakistan about three months ago and one of the family members asked me to bring her some Ben Gay maximum strength. Time was short and I went to a local Walmart and but didn't see any Ben Gay at all but saw this. I bought four tubes and gave to her and explained that the store was out and no time to shop around. She graciously accepted.
Is it any good for pain??

Yes, in fact my doctor recommended that first.

I know that area pretty well. Flash floods come up fast.

It was about 6 weeks ago now, perhaps a little longer, where Globe was hit with flash flooding.

Are you 60+ years old?

More rain scheduled for tomorrow and from the sounds of things, likely well into the weekend.

Frankly, living in an arid climate, no one is complaining.

West side of PHX metro area has a fairly heavy hail storm today. Looked like snow in several areas.

@AZ_HighCountry

You mentioned cold brew awhile back. Found a super easy method using Mason Jars. (See below)

Have some Maxwell House sitting around.

Half gallon Mason Jars, 12 tablespoons ground coffee, fill with water for each half gallon. Shake, set in fridge, one for 12 hours. The other one for 24 hours.

[Found a jar of ground cinnamon and have vanilla extract. Put some in, shaking jars every so often]

Strain, mix with ice.

From web:

Mason Jar Cold Brew Equipment

Wide mouth mason jar (quart size):
Must be wide mouth so the filter fits.

Cold brew filter: I use a stainless steel filter designed for mason jars. Super simple and reusable.

Mason jar lid: A regular one works fine, but leak-proof lids are great for shaking.

How to Make Cold Brew in a Mason Jar

Step 1:
Place the cold brew filter inside your wide mouth quart mason jar. Make sure the rubber gasket is between the filter and the jar to prevent leaks. Add in your coarse ground coffee.

Step 2: Pour in 3 cups of filtered water, or enough to fill the jar to the top.

Step 3: Screw on the lid and give the jar a good shake to help saturate the grounds.

Step 4: Let the coffee steep for at least 24 hours. You can keep it on the counter or in the fridge, whatever fits your routine!

Step 5: After steeping, lift out the coffee filter and allow it to fully drain. I like to place it in another jar to catch every last drop.

Step 6: The result is a strong cold brew concentrate. I like to add another cup of water to dilute it, which fills the jar nicely. Taste and adjust - some prefer adding 2+ cups of water for a lighter brew.

Step 7: Shake the jar before each use since separation is normal. Serve over ice or heat it gently for a cozy version.

Serving & Storage Tips

Storage:
Your cold brew will keep fresh in the fridge for up to 7 days. I like using erasable labels to date my jars.

Continuous brewing: I start my next batch as soon as I strain the current one. That way I’m never without!

Serving tips: Pour it over ice in a pint mason jar, top with non-dairy whipped cream, and sip with a reusable silicone straw. Heaven.

▢3 cups water

▢Another 1-2 cups of water to dilute the ratio after the coffee has steeped overnight
