Now all they need is two more starting pitchers and 2-3 bats that can actually hit and get on base, and maybe.... just maybe they can actually win a playoff series.
Detroit Tigers just traded their top two starting pitchers for prospects AND going to make the playoffs.

How about that?

If just making the playoffs is good enough for Tiger fans, then more power to them, however Tiger's front office already quit this season by trading two starting pitchers for future prospects. Padres are just renting the pitcher they got from Tigers which will likely bite the Padres in the ass just like Soto which Padres traded the farm setting them back 10 years. Casey is just having a good year and is nowhere near at the level the pitcher Doyers traded for Casey is just average SP who is at the end of his contract which for some reason players whether it be NFL, MLB or NBA always seem to have a good year when their contract is near the end.

Padres are just putting a band aide on a stab wound I would have rather the new owner blow up the team keeping Tatis, Miller and Merril and start fresh even if it takes 3+ years to get back in playoff contention.

Unfortunately for the Padres it's not spending money that hast sucked this team but incompetence in front office. GM AJ Preller has been with Padres as GM since 2014 and all he has to show for in those 12 years is 4 playoff appearances, 4 playoff series win, and the cherry on top 8 head managers.... seriously wtf? Also with this new owner this will make AJ's 4th primary owner he's worked under so my conclusion is quite obvious that GM AJ Preller bewitches these owners from firing him. The guy is going to be Padres GM for eternity and we fans are screwed.

This is why I don' t watch Padres baseball anymore it's been years not even during their playoff run when they beat the Doyers. I'll keep tabs here and there like during this season when they had the best record in MLB for 1 second but my time and money they don't have anymore unless a real fundamental change happens in the front office.

Animal Control did a slow roll past my house early this morning. Officer didn't wave, but I seen her smile. 😂

We talked once before. Told me she loves my cats.

Well....

About five in the morning, Buddy and I decided to go for a walk downtown, Hwy 60...

"No ma'am, the cat is chasing him."

There are players that do very well when there is no pressure to win because the team sucks and when they are at their final year or two of contract, they also tend to do well which suckers teams to give up prospects for this kind of players and crumble when the spotlight is on them.
