Old Man's Corners

You ought to move to Oklahoma to experience the vibrant seasonal changes this time of year, by day.

Tuesday the heat index was 101°F. Tonight, the low is expected to be 38°F.
No thanks. I btch enough about the weather here can only imagine the weather princes I'd become in Oklahoma.

Every week, around 4:00am Thursday morning is laundry day. Here's Buddy and Sunshine waiting for me to finish folding my laundry so we can walk back home.

We had a good time this year, but it's time to start bringing in the cats for the winter.

Sunshine, the one in back, just caught her, and now have her inside. She is just seven pounds and the toughest cat I know. Loves hunting.

Ivan was waiting for me at the other door at the laundromat.

This morning, Ivan caught a nice big fat juicy field mouse.

Ever try herding cats around town? Did it nearly every night since March. Put on my headphones, and walked. The cats will follow or lead.

James Brown and Funkadelic were the two favorites. Seems the sillier I look grooving to music, the more the cats enjoyed walking with me. 😆

Fun when all four of us are walking down main street and other strays come out to watch us. Set a new personal record this year when I had eleven cats around me in front of the water department one early morning.

What's not to like? Negative 20°F wind chills in February and a heat index of 120°F+ in August living in a 100 year old house.

Sometimes I wonder how people around here survived a hundred years ago in this house. (Used to be a fireplace here).

Last fall, 18" of blown insulation in the attic for the first time for this house.

This winter, have enough large cardboard boxes to cover the wood floors to prevent cold drafts coming up from the crawl space.
