I am about to cry. This cap is on eBay for $1,400.....

At Cooperstown, Baseball Hall of Fame, during the 70's I bought one of those caps at the gift shop. Kept it in plastic.

Think my folks sold it during one of their garage sales.

Update: Called up my mother, cap may still be in storage, mint condition.

The company l worked for 30+ years actually rejected me during my interview with the HR Head. I asked him why? And he said l wasn't experienced enough for the job.
This really pissed me off. I didn't know what to do so I went to the Racquet club for a game of Squash to stress out.
Coincidence that the Head of the Division also played at the same club.
The next day I asked him for a game and we played 3 games with me winning 2-1. Afterwards I informed him that I was rejected by his HR because I wasn't experienced enough. He said you worked in the US and you are not experienced laughing!!!
A few days later l was called in for a 2nd interview by the HR manager. He smiled and said you have a lot of guts going to the Head of the Division. I replied we were just playing a game of Squash!
He said l liked the way you "took a Chance". The job is yours and the rest is history as they say.
True Story!

Grumpy old man vacation review/update

Rome
Colosseum: B
Palatine Hill/Roman forum: B-
Chiesa di Sant'Ignazio di Loyola (mirror): B-
Pantheon: B-

Taxis still hit or miss in terms of overcharging

One thing is Rome is heavily reliant on tourism. There are hundreds of souvenir shops scattered all over the place.

Indian men waiting tables in mom&pop restaurants plus hawking water near tourist attractions and Chinese women behind the souvenir shop counters.

Tomorrow is Paris

Raise your hand if you have a Japanese aunt.

Aunt Yoshiko married my mother's older brother.

Met her only once visiting Wichita Falls, TX back in 1978.

Very sweet lady.

I have a similar experience. Coworker questioned my experience in a certain area. She was quickly told by our manager that I had likely forgotten more about the job than she currently knew.

LLWS starts on Wednesday. Game 1 is at 1300 Eastern / 1000 Mountain.

Fatman, that would be 2200 for you. Probably past your bedtime.

How did Michigan do this year?

My small town Michigan made it up to regionals one year.

Next team was from Detroit. All left handed hitters.

By third inning, I stayed near the warning track, to save on running.
