The 2025 Detroit Tigers are currently making a run for the top of this list this year.

Sometime in mid August they enjoyed a 14 game lead in their division. Now down to one game when Cleveland wins this evening. They are currently up 6-0.

So, I just turned 80 two weeks ago. I guess that qualifies me for the old man's corner. Retired here in Virginia about 4 miles south of Jamestown on the James River. Growing up in Virginia thru high school I had 12 years of Virginia history in school. In those days Virginia considered that Virginia history was US history (same thing) and world history was just preparation for Virginia history. The "War between the States" was a minor setback.

In spite of the self-imposed boycott, I allowed myself to watch the last 5 minutes of the Steelers-Patriots game. Steelers defense looked good. Still of the opinion Rodger's best days are behind him.

Nice to see the Patriots dynasty fading. Kraft and Kraft, Jr. didn't look happy with the team's performance.

Well it looks like it's going to be a tough season for Charger haters like me who like to hate watch. They will likely make the playoffs but not too sure if they will Charger during the playoffs with Harbaugh at the helm.
