Old Man's Corners

Ok
NLCS I'm going with the brew-crew against the hated dodgers.
ALCS is a toss-up. I think the jays win

ALCS is going in at a disadvantage to the Mariners. During the regular season, they were 1-5 against the Yankees and 2-4 against the Blue Jays.

The Yankees were 5-8 against Toronto.

The odds favor Toronto.

Game 1 is in Toronto.

Why Did Classic TV Actors Look So Old?

My childhood home we had 3 phones one in master bed, living room and long a$$ cord in the kitchen. We had 2 TVs a small TV in master bed on a furniture kart and huge Zenith furniture TV hooked up to cable. Not even close to being upper middle class parents just knew how to save and invest their money.

That was due to the 1982 breakup of AT&T. Before that all homes had those black rotary phones because you were paying rent on them. After that everybody started buying push button Cobra phones.

Have another showing of the house in a couple of hours. Maybe....praying.....hoping.

Had a showing on Friday. Some rando dude and his wife, no agent. They called our agent if they could look at the house. We were clear with our agent; "need proof of pre-qualification or no showing". They were fully pre-qualified and then some. They have a similar sized house now but looking for one with a pool. Told our agent ours wasn't quite what they were looking for. I've the sneaking suspicion with all of the work and upgrades we've done they knew we weren't going to accept a low-ball offer.

Think it was 1991. I was a real estate agent for Re/Max. 26 years old.

Took a listing no one wanted. Very nice home in a newer subdivision, actually the nicest home in the subdivision.

But the real estate market in the Metro Detroit region was bottoming out, listings stayed on market for months or did not sell.

This couple in their 30s had to sell their home, but it was underwater.

Asked them about the really nice 35' boat in the yard. Yes, it was paid for.

Within two weeks, brought in an offer that will pay off the mortgage. Convinced the couple to throw in the boat on the deal.

They were not particularly happy, but they at least were able to walk away with no debt.
