Old pictures of Pakistani Cities

An aerial and clear view of Peshawar Fort ( Bala Hissar).
Photo was taken by Andy Andrews in 1923-24.

The Bala Hissar fort in Peshawar is now the headquarters of Pakistan's Frontier Corps. The site was a royal residence of the Durrani dynasty of Afghanistan and was subsequently developed as a fortress by Sikh and British engineers.

Mark Oral Stein was a British archaeologist of Hungary - passed away from Hunza in June 1900. The photograph below is made by him.

Remember, the construction and decoration of the Baltat fort has been done in different periods. It has been repaired and decorated three times during the tenure of Mir Muhammad Nazim Khan (1938-1892).
