Haveli Mian Abdul Karim Sethi:

This beautiful haveli, generously gifted to the city of Peshawar by its owner, Mr Suhail Sethi, has had its ground floor recently restored by the Archaeology Department.

“St John's Church, Peshawar, now in Pakistan, was constructed in the 1850s. It is now called the Cathedral Church of St John. From an album of photographs associated with Lieutenant-General Thomas Fourness Wilson (1819-1886), 12th Regiment of Bengal Cavalry, 30th (Punjab) Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry and 26th Punjab Infantry.”

Bannu train station circa 1930.

Background: “The British Raj laid a narrow gauge (two feet, six inches) line from Mari Indus to Bannu passing through Kalabagh, Isakhel, Lakki Marwat and Bannu with a branch line to Tank. From Tank and Bannu, only military lines were allowed to take the cargo into forts in Waziristan. “

The last trains to use this line were in the 1990s before being decommissioned.
