A renowned metal smith, Shah Nazir, set up a furnace in Mughalpura, Lahore in order to cast the Zam-Zammah Gun at the orders of Ahmad Shah Durrani in 1757. The people of Lahore had to donate their bronze and copper utensils in order to get it cast.
