THINK TANK: CONSULTANT
Nothing is OK. Not sure how you took that to be the point. So in short, according to you, current situation is all kosher. Dozens dead per day is all okay. Security appratus is doing its job well.
While whole caravans of smugglers cross borders daily in jeeps and god knows how much of weapons or guys they are smuggling in.
And drones arent the solution. Sure.
Point is that casualties will be taken as this COIN campaign is prosecuted because there is no quick fix. If we are hurting, the other side is hurting even more. They are essentially bankrupt. They have issues maintaining control within their own territory and Pakistani strikes are massively humiliating for them.
Within their own government, outside of the sloganeering, some of their own ppl are asking questions if supporting TTP is worth it for them. Pakistan's kinetic responses within, trade closure and now strikes across are all adding to those pressures but this will take time.
All of this will lead to eventual talks...they are not serious about it now because the cost was not being raised for them. That is changing.
