The Taliban are demanding recognition from Pakistan as the legitimate government of Afghanistan. Pakistan is refusing this for various reasons. The Taliban respond by turning a blind eye to the TTP/BLA terrorist groups and building relations with India.

And why would Pakistan recognize them without their behavior to be adjusted? They owed their back to power to Pakistan, then Pakistan allowed transit trade to India to help them, then Pakistan even upgraded their diplomatic presence in Pakistan and yet the rental thugs were always looking for some 'better deal' and India is offering them.

This Comment to my own Comment on the NY Times sums up well what the Afghans are: A rental 'nation' and it is best we stop complicating the situation and understand their true nature.

I was wondered about the utility of these planes for ages,

They seemed pointless even as interceptors in this day and age

But if they can be used in Afghanistan then might as well use them before they are retired

From about 2002, we Americans tried to civilize these primitive pre-Adamites and build a society that respects individual rights and democracy and the rule of law and scientific inquiry and the notion of equal rights for all.

But we were thwarted at every step of the way by Pakistanis who played a double game, taking our money and supporting the very anti thesis of what we were trying to build there. Supporting the Taliban, giving them training and sanctuary, hosting their leadership (whether Al quaeda or Talibs), providing them a launchpad to attack Afghan territory, and so on. All in a misguided idea of muslim unity.

Now Pakistanis have gotten their wish - the Taliban is in power. And Pakistanis are finding out to their detriment that they should not have supported those barbarians.
On the old forum, many Pakistanis such as @hussain0216 were openly cheering for the fall of Afghanistan to the Talibturds in 2021, and boasting about having bested the USA. They should have been careful what they wished for.

We Americans could always go back to good old America - and we did. But Pakistanis are stuck with their Frankenstein's monster in perpetuity.
