Operation Ghazab Lil Haq (Pakistan - Afghanistan War)

"At this point, the [border] reopening is only restricted to the repatriation of Afghan nationals who have been detained for illegally staying in Pakistan," the spokesman said while refusing to provide his name.

"If things go well, then other activities, including trade and general public movement, will be restored gradually," he said.

Pakistan launched a nationwide campaign against illegal Afghan immigrants in 2023, arresting and repatriating thousands.

The latest round of border clashes began in late February, following a series of deadly attacks across Pakistan by Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terrorists, for which Islamabad accused Afghanistan of sheltering them and failing to take action against them. Kabul denies the accusations.

It followed airstrikes from the Pakistani military targeting alleged TTP hideouts inside Afghanistan.

According to Kabul, the airstrikes killed dozens of civilians, whereas Islamabad claimed over 500 TTP militants were killed in the strikes.

The two sides had agreed to a week-long ceasefire on the eve of Eidul Fitr, on March 18, following requests from Turkiye, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

Separately, a grand meeting of elders from Pakistan and Afghanistan opened in Peshawar today.

The participants called for renewed dialogue between the two neighbours after weeks of escalating cross-border violence.

Pakistan and landlocked Afghanistan share 18 border crossing points, the busiest of which are Torkham and southwestern Chaman in Balochistan province.

For the past days after Eid, the most disappointing thing is that Pakistan Govt has stopped using PAF. This is terrible. They are Afraid of a few Social Media posts, and stop bombing terrorists.
the most probable reason is that Aljazeera, BBC, DW and all american channels towed the Taliban narrative of us killing 400 of their drug addicts while in reality some of their own reporters and channels raised questions around the authenticity of the claim.
Lets be honest, Pakistan lost the narrative war on that strike and that put this weak Governemnt and Establishment, which needs international support and nod to remain innpowet, on a back footing.
There can not be any other reason besides this one for a 180 degrees turn in the approach.

Always jumping the gun.

It's only open for returning Afghan refugees. That's it.
Did u read the message i replied to?
The comment that I was replying to was related to PAF not bombing HVT in Afghanistan.
It had nothing to do with the torkham border being opened for repatriation or for whatever else.

Who said we are worried about external factors and opinions? Obviously we live in world that is more connected than ever (I guess). It is our respect for others sovereignty and territory, that we do not subscribe to expansionist ideas, not a weakness or cowardice.

Utopian ideas and mindset.

Do you think Akhand Bharat and Loy Afghans lot are respecting our sovereignty, for argument sake? As I said before, statecraft is about all spectrum of nationhood, that includes dealing with adversary ambitions and stated goals with your own.

These are needs and not ultimate goals.

Okay you tell us what should be our goal(s)? You keep referring to Greater Pakistan, but what kind of greater Pakistan do you wish?

I am content with strong unified disciplined nation, excelling all fields. Discovering and innovating, within our existing territorial boundaries.

You can ofcourse always disagree, persoanlly my idea is that from Indus river, both on East and west, the furthest Indus settlement excavated till date, the lands between is greater Pakistan. This land was not "promised" to you, your ancestors build, sustain and civilised it for thousands of years i.e If you think you are from these lands.

You may not see it in your life time, might not happen in next hundred years. But that's not the point. You set national agenda and itself propell you towards greater things. Back in the days, the mere idea of Pakistan was dismissed as "dewaney ka khowab".

Hybrid system is the need of the time. You may not like it but situation in the region demands it.

Lol. How is that relevant. What's wrong with you people?

Propaganda song to create division..... Are we this dumb to not see through their designs? Even the singer is saying the "Kh" words in the song, just like how bhindians would pronounce them. If it's a Pakistani singing it, then more to be worried about, and should be flagged as Indian asset.

I am not so sure.

Certainly, these optics were poor at a knee-jerk level, but folks in the west who analyse with a tiny bit of rigour and are themselves unbiased realised that there is no reason to trust the same miscreants who ban females from sports, medical careers, and education and also committed heinous acts in front of the eyes of their own military personnel.

The pushback from Pakistani state apparatus was reasonable and nobody spoke of "mental patients being targeted" beyond that first day or two.

As for "other reasons", look at what is happening to the west of Afghanistan and the quiet build up of Delhi's forces to our east, let alone regional fuel restrictions. I am just suggesting that there may be other reasons for winding down the Afg front for now - not that I am in any way happy with that BTW!

I could be wrong, but I think the songs are created using AI.

Division of what???

You are saying this as if Pakistan and Afghanistan are absolute best buddies and there is a mysterious plan to sow division, when it is the complete opposite.

Have you ignored the history lessons shared here?

@Asif I think Pakistan stopped because of the diplomatic stuff happening in Islamabad, they want that to be over. Otherwise clashes still happen at the border.

What does pointing out fake propaganda video has to do with history?

Pakistan has a legit case of protecting itself from Afghan terrorism, not taking over that country, this is a propaganda to be used to incite division among Pakistanis, and strengthen Afghan's resolve to keep going against Pakistan. Guess who wins if Pakistan's Afghan war keeps going forever?

if my brothers had any doubt about the Afghan Taliban sincerety then their recent interaction with Indians and visit to India should clear that doubt. but the challenge is that they should not be blinded by hatred for Pakistan army.

Nowhere near as much as the resolve for Pakistan to be keep going. Ultimately there will ONLY be one winner. That winner is Pakistan. Why don't the KUFFAR afghans/taliban stop killing innocent Pakistani Muslims? If they did, problem solved. If not, then eventually we will have to nuke them and wipe them off the face off the earth.

Because they are stupid, ignorant, uneducated. Afghan public has been played by the people in power (that is Taliban right now). If Pakistani's can get side tracked by the Indian propaganda, how easy it is for Afghans to get tricked by that Indian propaganda.

Pakistan needs to keep it's focus straight, it's head clear of any doubts and aware of enemy tricks. All they need to do is free the people of Afghanistan in general but Pushtoon region along our borders more specifically, and the merger will be organic and very consequential.

You brother need peace, sit down and have a fight, yes, fight yourself before speaking the first thing that pops in your mind. After you fight enough of these fights and wars with yourself, you will be calm and answer everyone with a smile, whether it's a threat, a warning or just a normal question you are replying to.
