Maybe Pakistan should explore different allies in Afghanistan. It's the Pashtun who will not accept the border due to pashtuns being divided permanently, this is mainly what breeds all the hatred/attacks. For the 46% Kazakhs/Uzbekhs/Hazaras/Tajikis it's better to accept the border so Pashtun power does not increase, at the moment they do hate Pakistan due to Pakistan historical support for the pashtun and fundamentalists who were educated in Pakistan maddrassas. I mentioned this before, Pakistan needs to hold talks with Iran, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkey and moderate elements within Afghanistan, all should unite on Afghanistan territory should not be used against neighbouring nations, Afghanistan must recognise international borders, must work with neighbouring nations otherwise all should unite and bring down Taliban government or even divide Afghanistan.

The idea was we have millions of Pakistani pashtuns, therefore Afghan pashtuns would be our best friends a d supporters

This was pushed by multiple individuals and generals and intelligence officials many of a pashtun background

To be fair it's a reasonable assumption, but it just didn't work the Afghan pashtuns just repeatedly looked for ways to spread fassad and attack Pakistan

So instead of peace and open border, we forced to close the border and have this constant low level conflict

If it was just a question of closing the border, we would be ok
But it's the fact that we had millions of Afghans and their relations inside Pakistan who harboured ill intentions towards us thats has caused this issue

Or Pakistan is just bluffing and they just want to pressurise/blackmail Taliban to the negotiating table. NRF leadership is in Tajikistan and Tajikistan is very close to India so we checkmated. The other side is close to Iran and Iran is again Indian friend. Turkey was our best option since Turkey is close to the Afghan Turkmen, Kazakhs, Uzbekis but our army told Turkey that Afghanistan is our yard as mentioned by PDF analysis. The NRF is way too close to India for Pakistan to support them back to power. The option i mentioned was to talk to all neighbouring nations, leave NRF and Taliban extreme elements out, bring all inclusive Afghanistan government who recognise borders, friendly ties with all neighbours, China must also be on board as they have the financial capital.

Good point. Taliban and TTP are different organisations but ttp is no threat to the Taliban and they have been allies for generations, in fact ttp is Taliban link to Pakistan tribal areas so it's against taliban interest to start a war with ttp. If taliban does start a war against ttp for the sake of Pakistan, the ttp will join ISIS and harm taliban greatly. It's a complex situation for both sides. Pakistan wants alliance with the taliban to eliminate all threats but for the taliban what does Pakistan offer them? India is where the big money is.
