no offence but you are beyond clueless about these matters
no MANPAD is taking down a F-15 let alone a F-35I
airbases are huge and dispersed and runways are easy to fix
you can hope to hit the hardened aircraft shelters but for that you (i) absolute surprise (prevent enemy from taking jets to air to protect them) and (ii) penetrating warheads and (iii) insanely precise missiles
That's the theory.![]()
All these manpads can bring down F-35 as fighter jets love to fly around 3-5km all tho they can fly at 10km altitude if they go above that to example 13km and above there will be air pressure and breathing issues hence you see them mostly under 10km.
A manpad can be adjusted to requirements and prolonged to 15km altitude and also prolong the distance it can travel to 300-400km this will be nightmare for any F-35 as it would have nowhere to hide except using its missiles to distract the heat seeker coming in but the manpad warheads needs to be increased to run the fighter jets into fatigue and overwhelm them hence it will only lead to one winner meaning the F-35 being banned from the sky
That's the theory.
In the practice have any F35 be shot down in combat ever?
You should refer to Iran's air defense section in the forum and see Iranian modelsThere is a saying: “Necessity is the mother of invention.” Seeing that Iran seems to produce missiles faster than other countries make shish kebabs, the conclusion is: Make something to neutralize the jets.
Is it just me, or is this the expression of someone who looks utterly defeated?
